  1. ROYALS PRESS CONFERENCE (8/10) Answer 3 questions for 1 TPE, answer all 6 for 2 TPE! 1) Welcome to the Royals JST team! We were very excited to select you in the draft. What are your expectations going into this tournament? 2) For the experienced players, how will you use this tournament opportunity to build your player? For the newer players, how are you going to build your player and interact with the forum? 3) What do you think of the team? How do you think we'll do? 4) What is your favorite hobby? 5) Where are you from? 6) If you could eat one food everyday for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
  2. However, LVA does have the leading scorer in the league, not to mention an award winning goaltender to boot.
  3. Hello @julian! I am TopTiddee, GM for the Royals of the Junior Showcase Tournament. We are looking to fill out our roster and in need of another forward. We think you can fill this need for us and help lead us to a championship! Send a DM, or quote this message with #RoyalTreatment, we look forward to hearing from you!
  4. Last week, current Las Vegas Aces Defenseman Reid Johnson was named the Junior Showcase Tournament's Royals General Manager. Showing a promising career, it seems like Reid has already impressed others throughout the forum. Rumors have swirled that Johnson is projected to be taken in the late first round to early second round of the VHLE Draft, which is quite impressive for a first generation player. Not many thought he would get into a GM role that quick. This is Johnson's potential to showcase that he can become a strong candidate for a future GM spot in the leagues once a spot becomes available. Reaching out to Reid regarding this new achievement was Fox 39's Chris Rock, who asked how this could affect the future of his career. "Well Chris, becoming a GM was quite an easy decision. The ability to develop new players to the forum is something I find enjoyable. It's crucial to the future of the forum and it can't survive without that dedication that GMs put into it. I think @Arce and I selected an active and dominant team, hopefully we can come up with a gameplan to exploit other team's weaknesses and ensure a championship at the end of the season. Of course, I will still continue my player career with the Aces and into the VHLE Draft. But I think this is a good start to a potential career outside of my player." Chris then asked how his relationship with Arce could improve as a result of this job. "I think that Arce and I have built a great relationship so far. He has helped me navigate the troubles of starting as a GM and was there to support me when we selected our team in the draft yesterday, and I was respectful with his opinions. I also think it's great that he's able to balance real life, GMing Vasteras, and AGMing the Royals organization. It shows that he can make time to do things he wants to do and be active within the server. I think as the season goes on he will be a presence in the LR and will be willing to help those who have questions." Arce and Shindigs were unavailable for comments.
  5. 1) The hockey gods are gifting them these wins. Hopefully we can prevail. 2) Very excited. Meeting the new generation of players is something I look forward to. 3) Vacation in the Caribbean 4) I think we'll have quite a few, I could see Evans getting Best G and Al Land grabbing some. 5) I think Poke Checking school 6) Which Las Vegas Aces player scored 60 Goals and 123 points in S84? A: Al Land
  6. Vegas bouta get reversed swept make sure y’all see my playoff post for this week
  7. I’m proud that I was selected to showcase not only my potential skill as a GM but my personality towards others in the LR as I hope to carry on the tradition of the legendary Shindigs
  8. Yes. I am giving this special PT article to discuss the playoffs in the VHLM. These are my predictions for the battle of the Founder's Cup, and I expect shade to be thrown at me because of some of my predictions. #1 Las Vegas Aces (58-9-5, 121 PTS) vs #8 Saskatoon Wild (22-48-2, 46 PTS) This first round matchup features the #1 Las Vegas Aces going against the #8 Saskatoon Wild. In what seems like an absolute 4-0 sweep in favor of the Aces, the current Cup favorite is on a bit of a downturn. The Aces have lost their last 3 games, losing to Mississauga twice (5-1, 3-2) and Houston once (4-0). Because of these losses, LV's probability of winning the Founder's Cup has dropped. Saskatoon, on the other hand, hasn't won a game since my last post of the regular season (8/1). Because of this, I feel that Saskatoon isn't ready for the dominant threat of the Aces. Watch Al Land for the Aces, I expect him to lead the league in playoff points after Round 1. (LVA wins 4-0) #3 Mississauga Hounds (48-17-7, 103 PTS) vs #7 Ottawa Lynx (24-41-7, 55 PTS) In this matchup, the East Champs #3 Mississauga Hounds are facing the #7 Ottawa Lynx in what should also seem like a one-sided matchup. Mississauga are on a high note after defeating Las Vegas twice to end the season. In what has boosted their chances at spoiling another cup run for the Aces, I think that they are potentially the Cup favorites if they play Vegas in the next rounds. Ottawa on the other hand has had a below-average season. They took several defeats to the Hounds earlier in the year, and I feel like they will suffer the same defeat in the playoffs. One player to watch in this series is Lorenzo Cobberson, who lead Mississauga in scoring and was in the top 10 in the league for scoring. (MIS wins 4-1) #2 Houston Bulls (49-18-5, 103 PTS) vs #6 Halifax 21st (37-26-9, 83 PTS) The #2 Houston Bulls take on the #6 Halifax 21st in the First Round of the Founder's Cup Playoffs. The Bulls, coming out of nowhere to steal the #2 overall seed from the Mexico City Kings and Mississauga Hounds, are prime to take out the 21st. The Bulls only lost to Halifax once during the regular season and have been threats to become the new champs of the VHLM. Halifax, on the other hand, has had a decent season, sitting in the sixth spot for a while. While I think that Halifax could maybe play spoils to the Bulls playoff run, I don't think they'll have enough in the tank to upset the #2 seed. One player to watch in this series is Jeffery Bezos, who was #2 in the league in scoring for Halifax. (HOU wins 4-1) #4 Mexico City Kings (47-16-9, 103 PTS) vs #5 Philadelphia Reapers (45-23-4, 94 PTS) And now, for the most entertaining series in the First Round, the #4 Mexico City Kings faceoff against the #5 Philadelphia Reapers. Both teams won 3 games against the other during the regular season and can expect this series to go to 7. Mexico City was the #2 team overall in the league on 8/1 and looked primed to holding onto that spot going into the playoffs. However, after a little skid and the other teams behind them picking up momentum, the Kings fell to 4th off of a tiebreaker. Philadelphia is riding on a two game winning streak and is looking to upset the #4 seed. I think that even though Mexico City may be a distant favorite for the Founder's Cup, I think Philadelphia can play spoils and win the series in 7. Players to watch include Jon Webber Jr (PHI) and Tater Tottingham (MEX), who both appeared in the top 10 in the league in scoring. (PHI wins 4-3) CURRENT FOUNDER'S CUP % #1 Las Vegas Aces (58-9-5, 121 PTS) - 35% #3 Mississauga Hounds (48-17-7, 103 PTS) - 32% #2 Houston Bulls (49-18-5, 103 PTS) - 17% #4 Mexico City Kings (47-16-9, 103 PTS) - 8% #5 Philadelphia Reapers (45-23-4, 94 PTS) - 5% #6 Halifax 21st (37-26-9, 83 PTS) - 2% #7 Ottawa Lynx (24-41-7, 55 PTS) - 1% #8 Saskatoon Wild (22-48-2, 46 PTS) - <1% As per usual, get mad. Tell me why I'm wrong. I'd like to read your comments.
  9. I’ve been watching you closely throughout the season, and I agree with Shindigs. The fact that you came in not too long ago and have solid stats is quite impressive. I guess we’ll have to see how you do against us in the first round.
  10. Yes they were unavailable due to, uh, “reasons”
  11. “Currently, Shindigs, Juan, and Cole were unavailable to comment”
  12. As of yesterday, General @dylanjj37 and Corporal @badcolethetitan have been planning a strategic attack on the Las Vegas organization, more specifically, @Shindigs for his "tyrannical rule" over the Aces Discord. As a surprising turn of events, where the General was named Captain of the Aces by Shindigs, has been plotted overthrowing the GM and an outside source has confirmed that Cole has joined forces with him. Witnesses say that they have already seen the two, dubbing themselves the "bot army" taking hostages in the LR, including @TopTiddee2 and @Grimsz109 , each who Ceson claims are his "rightful sons". We had the exclusive chance of meeting with the hostages, both who were being held in the Juan Ceson Training Facility: "So Reid and Ryan, how come your "father" has kidnapped you both and held you hostage here in the facility?" "Well Chris, we have had several legal battles with Mr. Ceson and are currently in the middle of one where it looks very unlikely that he'll win. He has decided to become a maniac and take us as prisoners, where we can only hope on the Shindigs army, consisting of our brothers in the Aces LR." "And what have you done to make your stay here productive?" "Well, since we are locked in the facility, we have access to our numerous weights and the ice rink where we can improve on our game during this crisis. However, when General Ceson returns to the facility, we are worked like mad men. I'm surprised that we've survived this far." Currently, Shindigs, Juan, and Cole were unavailable to comment, however, we will keep you updated as this breaking news story develops. For FOX 37, I'm Chris Rock.
  13. A great pick up to bolster the team!
  14. I would be ok with being horribly wrong and they do. It makes it fun.
  15. After being scolded by @Shindigs for failing to provide the correct playoff matchups (not really, Shindigs loves me [I think]) and dealing with legal battles over my adoption with Juan Ceson, I am bringing to you a weekly summary of how each VHLM team stacks up, since this will be the last week for the regular season. Some teams have clinched or obtained a different letter next to their name and one has officially been eliminated from the playoffs. Las Vegas Aces (56-6-5, 117 PTS) - Z Not only has Vegas proven they're the team to beat this year, but they have officially clinched the #1 seed in the league. This comes off of large wins to end the month of July, and after crunching the numbers, Mexico City can no longer catch the Aces. Al Land still leads the league in points (59-63-122) and LV boasts the best goaltending tandem in the VHLM. The only thing hovering over the Aces heads is the offseason, as they will lose some key players to the higher levels, including D Reid Johnson (myself) (7-49-56) and Larry Abass Jr (28-52-80). I expect this team to be the absolute favorite to win the Founder's Cup, unless something goes terribly wrong. If the playoffs were to begin today, Las Vegas would play Saskatoon, the current 8th seed. Mississauga Hounds (44-16-6, 94 PTS) - Y As I stated before, I was criminally wrong about where Mississauga was in the standings. Their record shows that they can contend with the teams at the top. The only team that seems to be the hardest to compete with is Las Vegas, as they have cruised to the #1 seed. The Hounds are in a fight for 2nd place overall in the standings, but they are expected to receive a favorable matchup in the playoffs now that they have clinched the East. Lorenzo Cobberson (37-48-85) leads the team in points and is in the Top 10 in scoring this season. If the playoffs were to begin today, Mississauga would play Ottawa, the current 7th seed. Mexico City Kings (42-15-9, 93 PTS) - X Mexico City holds a strong spot in the standings and I feel are the biggest threat to spoil Las Vegas's party. While they are 2-6 against the Aces, they boast a roster that can contend for the Founder's Cup. Led by LW Halvar Torbjorn (33-48-81) and D Tater Tottingham (24-57-81), they can make some noise as the season ends. It'll be short and sweet about the Kings for me. If the playoffs were to begin today, Mexico City would play Halifax, the current 6th seed. Houston Bulls (43-17-5, 91 PTS) - X As the playoffs near, Houston still threatens Mexico City for 3rd overall in the standings. The only thing that worries me about a deep playoff round for the Bulls is the 1st round itself. If the playoffs were to begin today, they would play Philadelphia. Despite going 4-1 against the Reapers, each game besides 1 has been decided by 1 goal. I think we'll learn more about this realistic playoff matchup once the dust settles on the regular season. Houston does boast a Top 10 point getter in Ronaldono Ronaldono (39-45-84), but can they truly ride on the back of him? Only time will tell. Philadelphia Reapers (39-23-4, 82 PTS) - X Philadelphia currently sits 5th overall in the standings, and it looks like based on trends, they'll hold onto the 5th seed and play Houston in the first round. With the help from John Jameson (40-49-89), Philadelphia could play spoils and make a deep playoff run. Similar to Houston, we should wait until the final games of the season, which includes the Bulls and Reapers matchup to make a determination on who to favor in a playoff series. Halifax 21st (28-21-5, 61 PTS) - X Since last week, Halifax finally clinched a spot in the Founder's Cup Playoffs. The 21st could possibly be a scary team, considering they boast the #2 scorer in the league in Jeffery Bezos (44-56-100). The problem is that they'll potentially play Mexico City in the first round, which could boast a problem for a middle-of-the-pack team. The good news is that they are currently 3-2 against the Bulls and play them two more times to finish the regular season. I think this could spoil a potential MC playoff run. Ottawa Lynx (21-39-7, 49 PTS) - X Ottawa is currently the last team to clinch a Founder's Cup Playoffs spot, and are currently sitting in the #7 spot. I don't expect this team to make much noise, as I currently have them losing in the First Round to Mississauga, however I would love to see a surprise upset and an underdog emerge. They unfortunately went 2-8 against the Hounds this season, but it shows that they can still muster a win or two. The only problem Ottawa has right now is that they haven't officially clinched the #7 spot just yet. If Saskatoon can outpace them and claim the spot, then Ottawa would have to play Las Vegas, where the Lynx went 1-5 against the Aces. It's not a good chance to escape the First Round, but there's still a shot. Saskatoon Wild (22-42-2, 46 PTS) - 95% This is where the bubble begins, as the 8th seed has yet to be clinched. Saskatoon currently holds that spot with a 10 point lead over San Diego in the standings. While Saskatoon will have to fight to gain that last spot, it will only be a battle rather than a war, as the Wild only need to win a game and need the Marlins to lose one (SD does play LV for one of those, I think it'll be a loss for sure). I think it's very possible, since Saskatoon will play Ottawa twice before the season ends. The bigger problem should be who they play in the First Round between #1 Las Vegas and #2 Mississauga. San Diego Marlins (16-46-4, 36 PTS) - 5% Sorry San Diego, but I don't give you a great chance to make the playoffs. When you still have to face Las Vegas and Mexico City for the remaining games and need to avoid losing a single one to keep your playoff chances alive, it deserves a low percentage. Like I said under Saskatoon, they just need the Marlins to lose one game to make it a lot easier, and two to secure the spot all together. I think it'll be time to look at the offseason if you're a part of the San Diego franchise. Miami Marauders (12-51-4, 28 PTS) - E I saw this coming. Miami, who I gave an 8% chance last week to make the playoffs, have officially been eliminated from contending for a spot. They will have to endure a long offseason, hopefully re-evaluating and making key draft choices to secure their success next season. Not to mention, I was scrolling through the Miami trades this season and saw they traded their AGM (why?). It just goes to show how the Marauders are desperate to rebuild. Throw your shade. Playoffs post comes next week. May the best team win.
  16. Interesting choice of the "fisted by the monkey"
  17. 1) I think we have a good shot at completing that goal, it's going to be hard with the tough teams we'll have to play against but we can get the job done. 2) I think the fact that we can rely on all 3 lines is a great thing, especially come playoff time. It will get tough down the stretch and any production counts. 3) Me. JK. I think it just depends on the team needs really. 4) It might get rough for him when we play the stronger teams to end the season, but I think he'll still be considered the top goalie in the league come the end of the season. 5) No he is a bad father and disobeys papa shindigs. 6) No.
  18. Many say that starting out homeless on the streets in Chicago is very dangerous. No body thinks that the person lying on the park bench will become anything in their life. However, Reid Johnson shut down the critics and became a potential NHL draft pick. Born on May 8th, 2003, in a King's Inn in South Dakota, Reid wound up homeless after leaving his abusive parents. Though he had never played competitive hockey before, he owned a pair of roller blades and used to skate around downtown Chicago. While skating through the west side during rush hour, Coach Fliberknackle, a young coach for the Chicago Mission 8U team, caught Reid rolling around, and thought he had an excellent stride. While walking down a park sidewalk after work, Fliberknackle found Reid sleeping on a park bench. He woke up and was startled to see someone talking to him. After reassuring that he wasn't going to rob him and wanted to talk about hockey, Coach took Reid to a Blackhawks game, giving Reid a sense of how hockey works. After the game, Coach asked if he needed a place to stay, and Reid couldn't refuse. After eventually spending a week at his residence, Reid asked why Coach let him stay. Coach stated: "It's because I was in your position at one point in my life. It seemed as no one wanted anything to do with me, but I found a passion in hockey and made it to the big leagues. I want to give you the opportunity because you have been through so much in your life already." After that, Reid went to a practice for the 12U team and had great footwork. Coach put him on the 4th line to start and give him a chance to get his feet wet. Obviously not playing hockey before, his stick work was lackluster. Due to the team falling behind in the national rankings, Coach moved Reid back to defense and continued to work with Reid on his shooting and his puck handling. His numbers shot up, as he potted 12 goals and 45 assists in 35 games. Making the 14U team the next year, Reid became a 1st line D and lit up the competition. College scouts from schools like the University of Minnesota and the University of Denver began to take notice. At the end of the season, Reid scored 18 goals and 51 assists in 40 games. Being named a top 5 pick in the 2021 NHL Draft is something Reid never saw coming. He won a national championship during that season, and earned team MVP awards. Going ahead to 2018, during a game against Compuware, Reid took a hit and twisted his knee, and fell to the ice quick. Being rushed to the hospital following the hit, it was confirmed that Reid had torn his ACL and MCL, requiring surgery. He missed the season, witnessing the team go 25-10. Due to injury scares, most NHL teams had him dropped to the 6th round in their mock drafts. He attempted to get back to work and to show that he was still the player he used to be. Reid played one final season for the Chicago Mission, and did not perform like his 14U self, only scoring 5 goals and adding 10 assists. This lackluster season made him drop out of the draft conversation and label him as a "UDFA" for the upcoming draft. Thinking that his career was over, Reid searched for other leagues to continue his professional career. He eventually found the VHL, and met with multiple GMs to get his career started. Reid was drafted with the 25th overall pick to the Las Vegas Aces, and found immediate success. Though he may need a full season or two to produce like he did during his 14U season, he has a lot to be proud of and he knows he can become the best defenseman in the VHL.
  19. Juan Ceson reportedly "claimed" that Reid is his son. He didn't specify either adopted or direct.
