  1. Since it is theme week I have decided to write about the only GM I have ever had so far, @AJW I am new to the league and do not have much experience with GM's but I can write a bit about the only GM I got to play for so far in the VHLM, AJW. I have only known him for a week but he welcomed me into his locker room with open arms. For a new player, this game can be complicated but in time it became extremely easy for me. AJW was there to help guide me through it. He has been busy this season on the trade front. Making moves to improve the team for the future. I had the honor to sit down with AJ for an exclusive interview. You traded the best player on the team, the mediocre one, for a draft pick. Do you see yourself making more trades before the trade deadline? Achilles At the moment I don’t see Houston needing to trade anyone else. The Mediocre One is a fantastic buy player, he leads the league in most categories this season, but I just didn’t have the right assets to win a cup with him. Most of the team is new to the league and still developing, so my thoughts were to trade him for some valuable picks to buff the team next season with everyone returning. AJW Is it safe to say the bulls are in a rebuilding phase? Achilles It is very safe to say that. We were hovering around the bottom of the standings before I made those trades so I figured it was the right thing to do. Last season in S85 we made a lot of trades for players and lost a lot of draft picks, so right now I am trying to get those picks back for the future of the organization. AJW Do you think it would be best to trade most of your players for picks to have a better shot next year? and you can just redraft some of them? what are your plans with this current roster? Achilles Most of our players are already coming back since they were drafted this past off season, and the rest are waiver players who’s trade value will be too low for other teams to want to trade. So at the moment I think everyone will be staying. AJW What are your plans for the future of the bulls? and what are you hoping to accomplish? Achilles For the short term future goals I want to build this team to be cup contenders next season. For long term future goals, I want to be in GM position of the Houston Bulls for atleast a year real life time, and I want to win GM of the season atleast once. AJW Do you see any members of the Bulls possibly surprising you with their skill development? Achilles Gio Naps, Shadow Thompson, and recently Thomas Matthews. Naps was drafted to the team this past off season and has shown great activity as well as earning abilities. Thompson was traded for at the start of the season and like Naps, has been great at everything and taken control of our starting goaltender position. And Matthews has been our best waiver signee by far, becoming a max earner and being one of the most active members in our locker room! AJW
  2. Way to put my player Thomas Matthew's on the spot with the fantasy question 🤣

    Was not expecting it

  3. Interview before game 203 "I am Rick Sportsman back here with VHLM Hockey News Magazine talking with again, Houston Bulls forward Thomas Matthews. Thomas since last time we talked, The bulls went on a big losing streak. Houston has won only 2 in 9 games. How would you describe what is going on in Houston?" RS Thanks for having me rick, I think Houston is in a rebuilding phase. There will be ups and downs for rebuilding organizations but I am here to play my best every night and do what I can for my team mates. TM "There was 2 trades this week. 3 players from Houston has left the roster including star center the mediocre one to the Kings. How does this impact your game?" RS I am now the first line Center for the bulls. I am sad to see him go but I am happy to get more ice time. In the first interview that you interviewed me I told you I would play any position that the team needed me in. I am a right wing but I will play center. The team needs me to succeed in this position. I will practice more with my face offs in my down time. It is always sad to see someone that is looked up to in the locker room go but at the same time he can succeed in the kings and maybe win a cup. So I am always trying to think more positive. TM "Do you see yourself maybe getting traded this season?" RS I don't think I would be. I wouldn't want to be. I don't think I am at the level where GMs are looking at me, yet. I want to be part of the rebuild process here in Houston and give the city here a cup that they can remember proudly. TM "Do you think the GM of Houston will do more trades this week before the trade deadline?" RS Anything is possible. but I am not the GM. No matter what happens I am going to play my all every night as I have been doing from the start. TM "Thanks for being here, I am Rick Sportsman, reporting" RS Thank you. TM
  4. I wouldn't change the forums. But I think a more realistic guide system for new players like I said as simple as messages. Maybe after you create your player, it tells you to check your messages with a link, since after you create your player, you are in the player page and have no idea really about forums much in this game. technically this game is more than 1 site really. have something pop up red or something to guide the new players that they will click it and go to the forum that there player is created or where they see team contracts etc... or something like this. I just see too many new people signing up and not signing with teams.

good luck guys. wishing you the best in your career.
  6. 1.) well, I would say do a push but trades were made today so it looks like a rebuild is underway. I am more than willing to stay here and play top minutes. I am a team player wherever I am. 2.) I would play for the aces, because my real life friend plays for them. It would be fun one day to play with Edward traverse, but at the same time, I like playing against him. 3.) fall, i hate the heat. and fall means hockey is back. how can you not like fall as your fav? hockey hockey hockey 4.) vegas will, they are stacked 5.) i dont even understand what this is. I saw the post, but as a new player, honestly, there isnt much explanation on MANY things. a lot of the times I feel like posts and words are for older players who knows whats going on while new people like me are left confused like a chicken with its head cut off.
  7. that would be solid. I was jus telling my experience and I want this site build.
  8. also I would like to put my opinion on something here. I signed up last week. I am technically new. After I created my player, I had no idea teams offered me contracts. I see many new players who sign up and do not reply to contracts due to it being confusing and no guide for them. It took me about 30-40 minutes if I remember correctly, to actually figure out I got offered contracts. I think, the recruiting team needs to get involved in this with the owners and make the guiding system much easier for newer players. somethign as simple as an inbox message that you got offered a contract.
  9. agreed. it took me a bit to learn the site. seemed complicated at first.
  10. "I am Rick Sportsman here with VHLM Hockey News Magazine with an exclusive interview with the Houston Bulls newest nondrafted waiver signing, Thomas Matthews, Right Wing #12. You really came out of the blue and no one has ever heard of you. How do you think you got to this level without ever being noticed?" RS "Hey Rick thanks for having me. I think I got noticed when my best friend Edward Traverse and I were on a team together in the Ontario Hockey League. We just clicked. We made a deep playoff run together. We got so close to the cup but lost in game 7 double overtime. I believe scouts scouted him and I during the playoffs because we both got contracts around the same time after the cup run to join the VHLM." TM "Can you tell us a bit about your background, so you are from Canada?" RS "Yes I am from Ottawa Canada. I played hockey as a hobby from age 6 to my early teens. I never really thought I would get this far with it. I think once my dad died 3 years ago, when I was 15 years old, I started to take the sport seriously since it was the only thing that I had left to remember him by. Hockey is what my dad and I bonded over with together. He was a huge Toronto Legion fan and we had season tickets every year. After he passed all I could focus on was hockey and I think that's what helped advanced the progress in my development." TM "Yes. I See here you were signed to the Houston Bulls. Your first game with the Bulls was game 157. You guys have only won 1 game in 5 since you joined. You only got one assist in those games. Are you bad luck for the locker room? or is there more to the story?" RS "No, (laughs) , that's ridiculous. We had a very tough schedule against the Las Vegas Aces. We played against them 4 times. They are one of the best teams in the league, which by the way, is who my friend Edward signed with. We just didn't produce enough offense and our defense fell apart quickly. I wouldn't blame one person for this losing streak. It's a team game. We just need to focus harder and practice more together. I am still trying to figure out the chemistry with my line mates." TM "Do you see yourself competing harder now since Edward is playing for your conference rival team? I am sure you have a lot to prove on your own." RS "Yeah I have a lot to prove. To myself and to my teammates. It's not easy going into a locker room and you have no idea how the team atmosphere is. Or if the veterans will take you under their wing. For now all I can focus on is my game. I need to keep developing my skills consistently and focus on what can I do to help this team reach the next level." TM "Did you always play Right Wing in your career?" RS "That's a great question. Most of my hockey career I played Left Wing but the coach in the OHL switched me to RW and my game has developed much quicker since." "Would you change positions again if asked by your coach?" RS "Of course, as long as I am a forward. I am here to help my teammates win. I am a rookie and I am not picky where they would need me. But from what I've seen from myself in the OHL, I am better at Right wing." TM "Thanks for your time Thomas Matthews from the Houston Bulls, I appreciate you being here with us. This is Rick Sportsman with VHLM Hockey news, reporting." RS "No Problem, thank you." TM Since the end of this interview the Houston Bulls will win only 1 game in the next 3 but Matthews will go on to score a goal and get an assist. Not bad for a rookie.
  11. 1. I am not picky right now on which team I will be on since I am new here and getting a feel of everything. I think the Bulls is a good fit for me. 2. I believe our team needs a dman, so I would like to see a top 4 D man on the team one day. Not sure from which team and for what asset. 3. I was just signed yesterday as a new player, I am not sure. I would think maybe add a few dmen. 4. I see this goalie must be good. You should always put pressure on good goalies. I am new here and I haven't been here long enough to see. 5. chocolate cake, chocolate icing, and the kids get first grabs. 6. Alex Jones
