  1. Moulson to Minnesota I wonder what they gave up EDIT: oh almost nothing
  2. I like how Slobo color coded all the trades. So Vanek traded don't know where. Legwand to Detroit. Maybe Moulson to Minnesota?
  3. we don't have a popcorn smiley, we should invest in this
  4. yeah that wouldn't make sense because the sharks are pree good
  5. Tremblay Stays in New York for Another Year Thomas Erdbrink - New York Times New York, NY – New York Americans left winger Simon Tremblay has signed with the team for another year. Tremblay had 45 goals and 37 assists for 82 points in 72 games this year. In his career Tremblay has 79 goals and 75 assists for 154 points in 144 games. Tremblay was sent to the Americans in the S35 off-season in a deal that included Keiji Toriyama for two second round picks from the Calgary Wranglers. Tremblay was involved in scandal early on in the season, but finished the season strong with 27 goals and 18 assists for 45 points in the final 34 games. The New York Americans narrowly missed the playoffs this season. Both Americans general manager Chris Miller and Tremblay released statements on the deal. “Earlier this week we re-signed Simon Tremblay to a one year contract. The deal will be worth $2 million. We were very happy with Simon’s progress over the course of the season and saw a lot of good things from him as the year finished. We believe Simon still has a bright future ahead of him in this league and can’t wait to see him back in an American’s jersey during training camp.” – Chris Miller, American’s general manager “I am very pleased to have this agreement worked with the Americans. I am very happy to be back in the team. The fans here are the best fans in the world and I am so excited to continue playing for them. Management Americans was great with helping me get through the difficult times I faced at the beginning of this season and I am so grateful that they were willing to take a chance on me. My teammates have nothing surprising with the support they showed me was and I hope I can do the same for them.” – Simon Tremblay, American’s forward, translated by boubabi Analysis: Tremblay Deal Sterling - vhl.com correspondent New York, NY – Earlier this week the New York Americans re-signed forward Simon Tremblay to a one year deal. I think this is great for the Americans for a couple of reasons. First off they get one of the best goal scorers last season for a cheap price, only $2 million. Whenever you can sign talent for cheap it’s always a great move, but Tremblay has shown an ability to produce significantly with very little practice hours meaning an extra low cost and more bang for your buck. Everyone knows in the modern day VHL that forwards are what wins you championships. Adding another forward over another defenseman of the same value is usually the smart choice. Tremblay will likely now slot in on the Americans second line after they acquired Odin Tordahl and seem almost certain to draft a very highly touted forward. This would be a demotion for Tremblay as he got first line minutes all last season on a very depleted Americans team. This is a role Tremblay has played in the past for the Calgary Wranglers and played very well, might I add. I expect a similar amount of production out of Tremblay as we saw last year despite the demotion as I think he will embrace his role with the team and give punch to the Americans second line.
  6. Well I think he plans to anyways, at least that's the vibe I got from his interviews before the season. I would be so sad if Broduer left the Devils, he is just so synonymous with New Jersey it wouldn't feel right at all.
  7. when I was on recruitment crew we did this whole thing where we were like told all the VHLM GMs that it was their job to mentor their players and we wrote this whole long instruction thing on how to and there was even talk about whether or not we should give them 1 TPE a week for doing their job, but that obviously wasn't going to happen. So yeah, according to the recruitment crew post that was back on the smf forums you could lose your VHLM GM job if you weren't doing this but no one ever followed through and we got moved so the post doesn't exist anymore but yeah they are SUPPOSED to be doing this and it's a huge problem if they aren't.
  8. ah yes, have been there many times before
  9. I loled, that turned so aggressive so fast it's like having a conversation with me. Like I said in my Fan 590 there is always stuff to write about like that but I don't find that stuff as interesting, however whenever I make a brand new player I always have a ton of stuff to write about to introduce him and his personality to the league. That's just me everyone is different obviously and if you're busy, you're busy because you know rl is almost as important as sim leagues, but if you actually want to write something and just can't find a topic just ask someone like Kendrick or Slobo or d_a (actually a lot of guys on the mag have ideas but can't use them because they're on the mag so sometimes they're the best to ask) but not Jardy because he is weird. You could write about how it's not fair that recreates get carry over if that really bothers you. Anything really, you could do a mock draft or write about how the VHLM GMs all went out partying too hard and got arrested and that's why the draft is so far away. There are like infinite possibilities.
  10. omg so many trades and it's not even deadline day Caps are over cap right now so they have to make another move before the deadline. I feel so sorry for Canucks fans right now because that organization is a hot mess. What isn't to like about Andy MacDonald? Is he slow? I don't watch the Islanders much but what I have seen he is good. Also I thought you couldn't trade injured players for some reason, like ones who are on LTIR. Isn't Robidas still on LTIR?
  11. and here I stand before you pondering whether I should even respond to this. On one hand the last time you said it I didn't and the argument ended and that was that for you, not for me but for you and that's who matters most. At the same time nothing good has ever come from responding to you in the past when you say things like this, for I have done so many a time and created only enemies, never friends. So, for this time I am choosing to respond, but not in an aggressive way. Just in an acknowledging way. Yes, I see this, you are wrong and trying to slander my character, and I have plenty mean things I could say about you. That is all, again congrats to Romanes
  12. AH NO I READ MORE HOW DARE I DO WHAT YOU SUGGESTED UGH I AM SO WRONG my bad on the bold part tho, that was a little low I guess but you get what you give
  13. oh yeah I sure did throw those first shots huh? so glad I brought your personal life in to it first
  14. oh what a raging attack how could I ever take such terrible shots at you
  15. further we use STHS, it's not like we use the same simulator because there are GM leagues that use STHS out there
  16. i was asking him why he was complaining about it being so hard when he knew it was going to be hard. That was it. Then he was like I think you've lost touch with reality and I'm not talking to an inactive, oh and let's not forget you can't read. I don't know about all of you guys but I don't particularly fancy people taking shots at me, especially when they have nothing to do with what is actually going on. So, I talked about what he actually said in this post and what this thread was actually about instead of taking personal shots at him. That's not bagging on him, that's a combination of defending yourself and talking about the OP.
  17. still have 4 days for the preseason so long
  18. i'll be sad if koradek leaves because then I won't have as many nice sigs to admire so please stay after valiq congrats frank
  19. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_herring#Logical_fallacy y do u always do dis kendrick? I read the whole thing, and I'm pretty good at reading, but let us recap. "Was never able to add anything through free agency which ultimately was more of a broken promises thing and it taught me a lesson. " Hmmm that sounds like complaining to me, but one must wonder, if this problem oft repeated was there not perhaps an underlying cause? Sure maybe two or even three times could be a coincidence but more than that there is a reason they aren't signing with your team. "I put a lot of effort in and can say I was one of the most active GM's when it came to trying to get the best out of my players. Ultimately that sort of came back to bite me and cause more headaches than anything." Oh wait, maybe this is why nobody wanted to go to your team. Hmm I'm not sure, I was on your team for a very brief time and had no issues with you until you traded with no explanation after you made me beg for a limited no trade clause. That's not related staying focused, we can't rule out that this may have been the reason no one wanted to sign in Cologne. "The last two seasons have been difficult for me to find motivation as I find for me the league has gone one step forward and two steps back, but that's just my opinion." Ah yes, the classic masked shot at the league. How dare this league do things I disagree with, for shame. Is this a direct shot at Victor? Most likely, but we can't be sure so we won't make that assumption, but I would never recommend bashing people in an exit speech. "To any GM who thinks the job should've been easier than I let on, I urge you to have tried it in this league before judging." Oh yes, an expansion franchise is hard Kendrick. One can see that from a mile away. Why don't you tell us more about how it's so hard for you in a GM job you wanted. "You basically start from scratch with no expiring contracts or veteran players to trade off. So it's not really a proper rebuild as technically you have to suffer for a few seasons before even building up assets." I think this is just stating fact but in context it is used as a complaint. "I'll be completely honest, I heard countless times the "I would play in Cologne if I was a FA" line and after those guys hit Free Agency without signing here, that just became more of an insult than a compliment." Oh more complaining about the free agency. Wow multiple players said in an informal setting they would play for Cologne but when the time came they didn't? Well maybe that was because they didn't fit in your team or like the direction you were going at the time, or we could even go back to the theory that they felt badgered by you and said this just to get you off their backs with no intention of ever following through with it. "The assets are there now and Romanes will continue to plug away at it. Good luck to him and good luck everyone!" Ah finally, something positive in this post. Yes good luck to you Romanes, hopefully these people won't wrong you so much in free agency and these GMs won't put you down because clearly that is all they ever did to Kendrick. Poor, poor Kendrick. I'm really truly sorry that you couldn't write a positive exit speech, that you felt so wronged at the head of Cologne that you had to go out like this. Because let's be honest, we are all only here to have fun, and I am truly sorry that you didn't have fun when you were GMing Cologne. Hopefully a little less hard job will be better suited for you. Hopefully a position where you get judged less will renew your faith in the league. But alas, if it does not, and you do find yourself fleeting in and out of activity, I truly hope that no one ever attacks you for this, because this should not be a forum for elitism but a forum for us all to frolic and play together despite our varying levels of dedication to sim league excellence. But I expect you won't read this, because I am just a mere inactive who logs in almost everyday and does a point task almost every week. I miss weeks, sure, and I was inactive for a while, yes, but that hasn't been the case since January and yet you still use this argument in the most irrelevant of situations. Dear Kendrick, though my grasp on reality may not always be as strong as that of some, but rest assured it is quite firm at the moment and trying to use that argument to lessen the validity of what I am saying is petty and I would like to imagine beneath an officer of the law so why do you do it again and again? But no this is not what this thread should be about, so again I will wrap up my post with a good luck to Romanes, may you be more competent than your predecessor.
