  1. You did amazing for us in such a short time. I'm excited to see how you do next season!
  2. Game Recap - Game 4 Game 2 - Bratislava vs. Rome The Bratislava Watchmen came ahead in another 3-2 affair against the Rome Gladiators in the S94 VHLE Semifinals. Tommy Shelby was the difference maker in this one, scoring the game-tying and game-winning goals while adding an assist on the Watchmen's first goal. Shelby has been part of 5 of the 6 Bratislava goals so far this series. If he can continue to contribute, the Gladiators are going to have a tough time coming back from the 0-2 deficit.
  3. Game 13 Recap Game 4 - Halifax vs. Philadelphia Game 4 of the VHLM Quarterfinals matchup between the Halifax 21st and the Philadelphia Reapers was a long winded affair that yielded the expected results. After 41:44 minutes of overtime, Bret Weier finally put the nail in the Reaper's coffin. There was a point in this game where Philadelphia seemed they would avoid the sweep. Ultimately it was not meant to be. Halifax only lost 9 games in regulation in the regular season, and are heavy favourites to win the Founder's Cup. They will face the winner of the Houston/Mexico City series in the semi-finals.
  4. VHL Top Stories Rise From the Flames The Chicago Phoenix did just enough to end the season outside the wild card spot. Though the 3rd-5th place teams in the NA Conference all had 88 points, Chicago was able to use their wins to secure a solid playoff spot. This comes at a cost for the New York Americans, who went 3-3-3 this week. Chicago will face the Seattle Bears in the first round, while Toronto faces the winner of the wild card series between Vancouver and New York. Season Winners Toronto Legion - The Legion maintained their winning ways from last season, improving by 13 points and securing the Victory Cup. HC Davos Dynamo - The Dynamo were short of a playoff spot again this season, but improved in the win column by more than doubling last season's output. **Los Angeles Stars - Anything was an improvement in LA. They quadrupled their win output and weren't last place. Season Losers Prague Phantoms - What can I say. The Phantoms managed only 4 wins this season, an enormous drop from their 46 last season. DC Dragons - The Dragons dropped 7 spots from last season, almost halving their point total. This Week's Stat Leaders mmrs617's VHL Stars of the Week Ryan Artyomov @Enorama (CHI) - G - Artyomov helped Chicago secure their playoff spot with a 7-3-0 record this week. Adi Dassler @BOOM (HSK) - LW - Dassler lead the league in goals and points and raised 9 spots in the overall standings into the top 20. Bobby Bob @Baby Boomer (TOR) - D - Bob had a great offensive week, with 2 goals and 15 assists while being +9. He also added 30 blocked shots. VHLE Top Stories Chipping Away Two weeks ago, the Rome Gladiators were in 5th place and out of a playoff position. They have found a way to finish games and ended the last week with a 9-3-0 record to put themselves in second place to face the Bratislava Watchmen. Season Winners Cologne Express - The Express were almost exactly on par with their stats from last season. They have been in the top two for the last 4 season in a row. Bratislava Watchmen - The Watchmen gained 32 points on their total from last season, earning them a spot back in the playoffs. Season Losers Oslo Storm - It has been a tough season for the Storm. They never really got their footing. They will be looking for a bounce back season in S95. This Week's Stat Leaders mmrs617's VHLE Stars of the Week Roger Eagles @Greg_Di (ROM) - G - Eagles put up 9 wins to help position Rome in second place. Swinsola @Swinsola (VAS) - D - Swinsola has been at the top of the points standings for 3 weeks in a row. They ended 2 points off from Pierre Marc Bouchard's total of 105. Maverick Goncalves @leandrofg (COL) - LW - Goncalves finished off his rookie season with top ten in goals, assists, points, shots, and power play points. VHLM Top Stories Bite Added to Their Bark The Mississauga Hounds have been on a tear since the trade deadline. They went 12-3-1 in their final 16 games with newcomer goaltender Chazz Michael Michaels @Xflexz at the helm. Though they are still in for an uphill battle against Saskatoon, it should make it a lot more exciting. Season Winners Miami Marauders - Miami went from second last to second best increasing their total points from 46 to 108. They more than doubled their offensive output while taking almost 100 goals off what was allowed last season. Mexico City Kings - The Kings are back in a playoff spot as another team that more than doubled their point total from last season. Season Losers Ottawa Lynx - The Lynx were all in last season and it shows. The Lynx managed only 36 points this season, dropping 73 from last. Las Vegas Aces - 13 points and the only team to not reach 100 goals for since Halifax in S91. This Week's Stat Leaders mmrs617's VHLM Stars of the Week Jacob Longstreet @Dynamicmlb_42 (SSK) - C - Longstreet ended the season with 133 points, the highest total since Caring Bear and Logan Ninefingers @Scurvy in S91. Jeffrey Pines Jr. @dylanjj37 (MIA) - G - Pines Jr. was the difference maker since the departure of Spider Panda @Ricer13, winning 8 of their last 10 games. Phil Sakic @Phil (MIA) - LW - Sakic topped the charts in goals and points this week, reaching 13th in the overall points standings.
  5. Play in the VHLM - Check Get drafted to the VHLE and VHL - Check Play in the VHLE - Check Win the King's Cup - Check Contribute offensively throughout the season - ... not so much. When Matteo Stefano arrived in Cologne to join the Express, his enthusiasm and excitement was through the roof. Sure, he was making a big change by joining a team across the ocean from his hometown, but this team that had some definite fire power and he had a chance to show what he had to the world. The Express won 4 of the last 7 Renaissance Cups including a three-peat from S89-S91. He thought this was the time to really build on his offensive skills by watching and playing with the best players in the league, and maybe the world. And during the season, he really got to see that skill. The team's goal differential was 36 more than any other team. The talent that this team put on the ice offensively and in net were head and shoulders above the competition. The only caveat to that was the role that Stefano was place into. Naively (and selfishly), he was hoping to learn to hone his offensive skills by being on the top line and showing it off right away. The only issue with that was the firepower in Cologne was well established, and Stefano wasn't. He hadn't even played a full season in the M and had a lot of unknowns still. So he was placed in the role of defensive forward. Maintain the lead brought on by the top 6. This was a role that Stefano was comfortable with, but can't help but be a little jealous of the hype earned from the scorers. So the learning happened at practice. It happened on the bench between shifts. It happened in the locker room. It just didn't really convert to the ice... yet. The S94 playoffs are about to start. Stefano is excited for the opportunity to show what he's learned throughout the season. Stay focused, get control of the puck, keep control. That is the goal. Stefano has shifted his playstyle going forward: Don't worry about the points, put yourself in the right position and they will come. Play your role and you will be contributing to the team. He is hoping that he can keep this mindset and for every second he helps keep the puck out of his net, he is one second closer to raise the cup.
  6. Can't hurt as much as getting none right. @AJW that's gotta be worth something.
  7. I didn't have a lot of time to do the top stories this week, but here are the graphics for standings and weekly stats and the stars of the week. This Week's Stats Leaders mmrs617's VHL Stars of the Week Savaisk Tzesar @comrade cat (MAL) - LW - Tzesar rocketed up the scoring charts this week rising 31 spots to 26th overall. They scored 31 points for Malmo and are hoping to continue that tear going into the playoffs. Jimi Jaks @ke1vi (TOR) - C - Jaks continues to dominate the scoring race. He added 28 points to his league leading 115 total. Wann Kerr @VattghernCZ (LDN) - C - Kerr announced his retirement this week and went on a hot streak. He was in the top ten for goals, assists, points, +/-, penalty minutes, hits, and shots. mmrs617's VHLE Stars of the Week Swinsola @Swinsola (VAS) - D - Swinsola tops the charts again this week. At this rate they may be able to surpass Bouchard for top spot. Roger Eagles @Greg_Di (ROM) - G - Eagles won 9 of 12 games this week to help Rome rise in the standings. Jack Dickins @Mystery_boy98 (OSL) - RW - Dickins has been consistent this week, rising to 19th on the overall leaderboard. He lead the league in goals, while also being in the top ten for assists, points, shots, and power play points. mmrs617's VHLM Stars of the Week Austin Goulet III @Tuchy (SSK) - G - Goulet III gave the Wild 12 wins, putting them 2 points out of 2nd in the standings. Jacob Longstreet @Dynamicmlb_42 (SSK) - C - Longstreet added 32 more points to his total this week. That puts him 8 points ahead of the next top player and puts him at an impressive 117 points this season. Alphonse Desjardins @Anthique (SSK) - D - Desjardins rounds out the all Saskatoon stars. He was top ten in assists, points, +/-, penalty minutes, hits, and powerplay points.
  8. I am interested.
  9. Great evaluation. I think the signing pitch is a real difference maker for new players. Hopefully the Hounds can make a late push for defense and nice run in the playoffs.
  10. VHL Top Stories Standings Dance Another great shuffle leads to a new-look top three. The European Conference playoff picture is all but set, but the North American Conference wildcard position is still up for grabs. With the amount of movement happening from week to week, there will be no sure bets for Fantasy Zone choices coming up. Trade Deadline Three trades were made this week leading up to the trade deadline. Each team seemed to have the same idea, to bolster draft picks for teams out of the playoff picture. The players involved in the trades have not shown much offense on their new teams, with a combined 5 points in 47 games. To be fair, three of the four players are defenseman, but I'm sure each of the GMs were hoping for some more output. This Week's Stats Leaders mmrs617's VHL Stars of the Week Joel Castle @animal74 (TOR) - G - Castle put up an impressive 8-0-2 record this week. He currently sits 2nd in wins this season. Simons Worst Nightmare @zepheter (SEA) - D - Worst Nightmare rose 33 spots in the overall rankings this week with 17 points in the last 13 games. He was second in assists +/-, with 15 and +16 respectively. Mac Atlas @v.2 (TOR) - C - Atlas reached the top 10 in points this week by adding 23 to his total. He was in the top ten for goals, points, +/-, shots, power play goals, and power play points. VHLE Top Stories Close Games Four of the six teams have goal differentials of less than +/-15. This means that games are close and the tides could turn very quickly. Despite being is last place, Oslo shared the same record with Stockholm and Rome. They are behind by 16 points, but if they can win games against the Vikings or Gladiators, they will close that gap and give themselves a chance. Trade Deadline Only one trade was made this week in the E, between Bratislava and Oslo. Oslo is the clear winner of this trade at this point, gaining a 1st and 2nd round pick in this season's draft. The Storm also brought back Aurora Skylight @Boaty, who has put up more points in their 8 games with Oslo than they did in their 40 with the Watchman. This Week's Stats Leaders mmrs617's VHLE Stars of the Week Swinsola @Swinsola (VAS) - D - Swinsola lead the E in assists and points this week with 20 and 27. They were also in the top 10 for goals, +/-, shots blocked, and powerplay goals/assists/points. Matthew Highmore @NineIQ v2 (VAS) - LW - This is the first player to hit my three stars twice for the VHLE. He was battle for the top spot in most categories. Andrew Skilton @ace_five_ (BRA) - D - Skilton is also as star for the second time. He remains third in scoring by adding 17 points this week. He was second in hits and shots blocked. VHLM Top Stories Fish For Sale The Marlins made 6 trades since June 14th. Picks and players flew as San Diego prepared for the upcoming and future drafts. They still hold a strong core team, so it will be interesting to see what happens in the win column for the remaining 24 games of the season. Theme Week The theme for this season's theme week was VHLM. There were a wide range of stories and graphics that celebrated the ups and downs of the M. The VHLM is an important part of the three league system and hopefully it continues to grow and foster many players, and members, that continue to contribute to the comradery of the VHL. This Week's Stats Leaders mmrs617's VHLM Stars of the Week Jon Webber III @Webberj (HFX) - G - Another solid week for Webber III. He has only 4 losses in regulation this season. Zaps Cat @scudmuffin19 (HOU) - G - Cat has a great week with 10 wins. He will be the difference in the playoffs on a very full Houston team. Meghan Dancalot @diacope - LW - Dancalot made the move to Halifax this week and continued on an impressive tear. She had 23 points in the last 13 games and was top ten in almost every category.

  12. Recap Game 100 Commanding Win for the Watchmen Bratislava continue to rise in the rankings with a win over Stockholm. The Vikings and Watchmen are currently battling for second place in the league. The Watchmen showed that they should be in talks as one of the top ranked teams in the VHLE. Period after period they put in a consistent effort. Bratislava had constant offensive pressure, with 38 shots over the course of the game. They scored in every period, showing that their effort never slowed. Goaltender Hugo Boss earned his second shutout of the season.
  13. VHL Top Stories Complete Shuffle Only two teams did not change their position in the standings this week. Eight of the 14 teams who shuffled around moved at least one spot, with the most noticeable being Calgary. The Wranglers started the season undefeated in their first 11 games. Since then, they've only won ten and dropped to 9th overall. Prague remains at the bottom with three wins in 37 games. One of the notable risers this week is the D.C. Dragons. They are climbing their way up the standings, trying to make a claim for one of the remaining playoff spots in the North American Conference. mmrs617's VHL Stars of the Week Theo Allard @InstantRockstar (DCD) - C - Allard had the largest jump in the points standings, rising from 82nd to 34th. He was 5th in points this week with 24, with 5 on the power play. Jeff Lewis @nerji (MOS) - RW - Another high riser this week, increasing his standing by 41 places. He scored 21 points this week and added two more on the penalty kill. Merome Dilson @MexicanCow123 (LON) - G - Dilson helped London maintain their third place position by winning 9 of his 13 starts. He currently sits third in the league for save percentage among starters. VHLE Top Stories Watching and Waiting The Bratislava Watchmen made the biggest jump in the standings over the last 14 games. It seems they are waiting for their moment to pounce on the leading Cologne Express. The Watchmen's top players are playing their best hockey of late, continuing to dominate on the weekly leaderboards. They still have a bit of a climb to catch the Express, but they've definitely earned their second place position. Overtime Woes Despite being one of the two teams with a positive goal differential, the Rome Gladiators are struggling to finish. They have gone to overtime six times this season and have failed to convert on all six. This is the difference between their current 4th place standing and 2nd. If the Gladiators want to contend for the Renaissance Cup, they're going to have to find a way to overcome this issue. Rookie's Season The top four points leaders at the end of this week are all rookies. Pierre Marc Bouchard @Gaikoku-hito, Maverick Goncalves @leandrofg, Andrew Skilton @ace_five_, and Jillian Woods @jacobcarson877 are making waves in their first season with their respective teams. It is going to be interesting to see where these four end up in the second half of the season. mmrs617's VHL Stars of the Week Jillian Woods @jacobcarson877 (ROM) - D - Woods was in the top ten in 11 different categories this week. They entered the top ten in points, rising 11 spots. Felicia Hardy @JCarson (STO) - D - Hardy was a force in the defensive end this week with 57 hits and 36 blocked shots. Alexandros Mograine @sliceruser (COL) - C - After a slow start, Mograine was able to jumpstart their scoring with 12 goals in the last 14 games. VHL Top Stories Status Quo The standings remained almost completely intact from last week. The teams at the top are winning, the teams at the bottom are not. The points gap between the two groups (1st-6th and 7th-10th) continues to grow each week, now sitting at 17. The third and fourth place teams in the Eastern Conference, are set to be at a huge disadvantage in the playoffs. mmrs617's VHL Stars of the Week Clapbomb Bardownski III @Eb14 (MIS) - LW - The defensive Bardownski III scored 26 points this week and jumped up to 16th on the overall leaderboard. Jerry Box @barryst (SSK) - RW - Box lead the league in assists and points this week with 19 and 29 respectively. He was also 3rd in +/- with +16. Miles Bryant @Kendrick (LVA) - D - Even on a struggling Aces team, Bryant is able to contribute defensively. They added 48 hits and 33 blocked shots to their impressive numbers.
  14. Welcome! Let us know if you need any help!
  15. VHL Top Stories Bears Barreling Up Seattle has made a push to the top of the standings this week, gaining 5 spots. They are now within 4 points of the Calgary Wranglers. The Bears had the best goal differential this week, scoring 49 while only giving up 30 in their last 12 games. This push was lead by Daryl Dixon @Ricer13, Eric White Jr. @Mysterious_Fish, and Severus Targaryen @Banackock, who scored a combined 63 points. Lopsided Streaks Seven teams were able to win at least 7 games over the last 11-13. This creates an interesting, dynamically changing standings. We are still early in the season, and this type of shuffling reinforces that every team in the league has a chance. mmrs617's VHL Stars of the Week Owen Lazaros @traphag (VAN) - LW - Lazaros lead the league in assists and points this week with 17A and 23P. They jumped up 74 spots in the overall player rankings to join the top 20 WWWWWWWWWWWW WWWWWWWWWWWW @rory (NYA) - G - They went 9-3-0 this week and were able to push their GAA under three. Tommy Sleeves @dasboot (HSK) - D - Defensive defenseman Sleeves was a +6 over their last 12 while adding a whopping 75 hits and 33 blocked shots. VHLE Top Stories The Storm Continues Oslo continues to struggle through 22 games. They've almost matched their total losses from last season (20). The Storm are the only team so far that is not seen some amount of success. If they want to stay in playoff contention, they are going to have to make some changes. Battling at Both Ends of the Track The Cologne Express have an impressive goal differential to start the season. They are leading the league with a difference of 20 goals more than any other team. Rookies Maverick Goncalves @leandrofg and Soju @Frank have dominated so far, leading to the early success. mmrs617's VHLE Stars of the Week Steve French @Seabass (BRA) - RW - French has made quite the splash since being traded to Bratislava on June 3rd. He scored 19 points in 12 games, 18 more than his first 10 games with Rome. Pierre Marc Bouchard @Gaikoku-hito (BRA) - C - Bouchard lead the league with 24 points over the last 12 games, 5 more than any other player. He was able to rise to first in the league in points and goals over that time. Andrew Skilton @ace_five_ (BRA) - D - Skilton rounds out an all-Bratislava star showing. This week, he achieved top ten in 6 categories: assists, points, penalty minutes, hits, shots blocked, and minutes played. VHLM Top Stories Stone Wall at the Pier There must be something in the water in Halifax, as goaltender Jon Webber III @Webberj has been on another level. The 21st earned points in every game this week and have only allowed 34 goals all season. Webber III has a 1.54GAA in his 18 appearances, significantly less than any other starting goalie. The House Doesn't Always Win The Las Vegas Aces are struggling this season, to put things mildly. Although they received their first win this week, it's hard to see the bright side. The Aces have given up 113 goals so far, 17 more than any other team. GM @McLovin has a massive hill to climb, but he definitely has the know-how and determination to prepare for future years. mmrs617's VHLM Stars of the Week Robin Sierra @ethanjaeda (HFX) - C - Sierra was able to top his performance last week, leading the league in goals (16) and points (31). They are on pace for 147 points this season. Ozzy Batty @Ozzy Batty (MIS) - C - Batty saw 25 points this week with 6 on the power play. Batty has show great leadership on a rising Mississauga team. Dorji Khan @Oddpurplefly (HFX) - LW - Khan lead the league in +/- over the last 12 games, showcasing their two-way capabilities. Halifax will be a tough team to beat if Khan continues in this way.
