How do you write an article about the lore of a league that you have been a part of for only a few months? Welcome to my attempt. The History and Woes of the Mississauga Hounds Mississauga first joined the VHLM in season 66. They started strong with players winning top honours in goals, assists, top defenseman, and most valuable player. It seems as thought they stalled here for about 22 seasons. They had players win a few trophies, but couldn't make anything happen as a team. That is, until GM Vincent Laroche-Gagnier @vincentlg2007 stepped in. In S88, the Hounds secured their 3rd Prime Minister's Cup in their history and 1st since S79. Improvements continued and in S90 it finally happened. With Laroche-Gagnier at the helm and star player Grimgor Ironhide @FrostBeard on the ice, the Mississauga Hounds completed the journey to the Founder's Cup. Now, in a league without the VHLE, the Hounds are looking to build a team for the long term. GM Ace Wilde @ace_five_ is in his second season. In his first season, Wilde was able to bring his team to the second round, losing to the eventual league champions. With much of that core back and a new look league, Mississauga is hoping their playoff experience will be the difference maker. Wilde has built a team that is ready to make a push this season and beyond because he is about engagement in the league and creating a competitive team. From my point of view, the Hounds are on the up and up. Their GM is learning the ropes quickly and has built a team full of players that are active in the locker room and willing to help each of their new teammates at the drop of a hat. In my opinion, that is what makes or breaks an M team. The first gen players enter the league with most of them having no clue what is going on. I know because I was there not too long ago. It only takes one friendly message to help a new member feel welcome. The Hounds have that. Although they haven't had a history of winning big consistently, they are definitely on the right track. The leaders will grow, teach the new players and they will become the new leaders. Under Wilde, the team has unprecedented potential. This is my understanding of the lore behind the Mississauga Hounds. Whether it is 100% on the mark or not is up for debate. This is the surface level analysis from looking at the stats and being around the team for a few seasons. I don't know what kept the team down for so many seasons, but I am trying to do my part to stop the cycle and get back to what Vincent created a few seasons ago. We are on the right track, and Ace is doing a great job of pushing the team forward. I'm excited to see what happen the rest of this season and into the playoffs and hope we continue to build momentum for the next several seasons to come.

This is so cool! It brings a whole new side of the game that I didn't even realize we needed!

Amazing lighting effect!

Had around 20+ consistently. @ace_five_ did a great job with the presentation.

1. VHL Awards haven`t been announced yet so why do you think it is taking so long for these Awards to be presented? Every award has a three-way tie. That's the only reasonable explanation. 2. How many awards predictions did you get right or you think you got right this past season? I think I got very few correct. Next season will be a bounce back season. 3. Prediction for your player this season? Hopefully point per game. 30 goals 42 assists. 4. Prediction for the Vancouver Wolves; this season? 2nd in the NA Conference. Soju with a huge season as the starter. 5. One major surprise in the VHL this season; What is it and why? Toronto ends up in 5th and loses in the wildcard series. 6. Riddle: If you're a child, you know me well, and when you're old I'll be your hell. I'm often felt but rarely shown. I'll drive you mad if you're alone.

1. Biggest departure from all the trades? Who are we going to miss the most? (Mark Calaway, Guntis Gavilrovs, Dalkr Vidarsson, Owen Lazaro or Pierre Marc Bouchard) Explain why? I'm glad I can join a team that is so close. I hate to be the one to break that up, but I'm excited to be a part of this team. 2. Vancouver also add a few players so which is the key addition to the roster that will make a huge impact this season? (Matteo Stefano, Rip Wheeler, King Kisslinger or Guntis Gavilrovs) Explain!! I'm hoping to make a big impact. I was lucky to get 24 goals in my rookie season and I'm hoping to build on that. 3. Award have been present and one of the hardest ones I had was picking last year’s MVP Who would you have picked for our MVP or do you agree with my selection? You've seen this team way more than I have, but looking at the stats, they were a huge reason for the season's success. 4. If you had to change any of the award or add award to the Vancouver Wolves presentation which awards, would you change or add and why? You've got the gambit of almost every stat I'm not sure if there is anything else to add. 5. So we traded our MVP tender to Toronto; do you know have these games circled on the calendar or is it just another game against Toronto? Explain…. I think they are important games for us. Toronto is great and we want to prove that this team is the one to bring home the Continental Cup. 6. Riddle: Made for victory, not for sipping tea; if you win me once, in history you will be. What am I? Has to be a trophy, but why not drink tea from it?

I know this has been brought up before, but is it possible to get a Player Render field added to the profile page on the forum? Maybe it could be added to the User Profile on the Portal as well? I just think it would be a lot easier to look up someone's profile to make graphics instead of having people all the time.

2. Do you believe in the Victory Cup curse? I don't really believe in curses. I think that the team that wins the Victory Cup can get complicit and when they're faced with teams that are the underdog, it can be a recipe for disaster for them. 3. Has Davos exceeded your expectations this season now that we face Riga? Yes and no. I think we've exceeded a lot of expectations, but we knew we had this potential. 4. Who would you say is the Davos team MVP this playoffs so far? AKK, no doubt. There is no was we would be where we are without their performance. 5. Which team do you believe is Davos’ biggest rival overall? Definitely Riga. They're so strong that the tone of the locker room shifts every time we play them. 6. Thoughts on the end of the VHLE? It's unfortunate, but I think it gives a lot of players more opportunity to grow and become leaders before they get to the VHL. 7. Will you be participating in the Pro Am this offseason? I might. I have the last two seasons with varying success. It is nice to meet old and new players throughout the league.

Davos, Switzerland Matt Skills - VHL Player Insider As the S95 season comes to a close, we caught up with HC Davos Dynamo forward Matteo Stefano to talk about his rookie season in the VHL. Below is an excerpt from our interview. "Being drafted to the VHL was a dream come true, and the fact that Davos was willing to take a chance on me in the first round made it even better. [GM] Alex was extremely welcoming, making sure I had everything I needed for my time in the VHLE so I could make a seamless transition to the Dynamo when I was ready. At the end of the S94 season, when I got the call that Davos was ready to call me up, I was ecstatic. This team truly was gearing up for great things in the future, and I got to be a part of it. There is pressure, for sure, but with Alex's experience and the leadership group of Jokinen, Ironhide, and Bucatini, who was coming off the rookie of the year award, I knew I would be supported and there was a lot I was going to learn. The transition didn't come without struggles though. Points-wise, I couldn't string together two good games for the first 20 games of the season. It definitely had something to do with nerves, as well as being so far from home. That being said, Alex and the team didn't give up on me. They knew there would be growing pains, so they mixed things up. The lines were shuffled, trades were made, and things just started to click. AKK (Aleksanteri Kaskiniemi-Kekkonen) was an absolute wall. That got my confidence going and I ended up almost reaching the top 10 in rookie points by the end of the season. More importantly, we were in the playoffs. We battled like we had the entire season and surprised a lot of people in the process. I don't think anyone had us going to the conference finals. The loss to the eventual Continental Cup winners was not a big blow either. We really fought and sent it to 6 games, which we were all super proud of. The amount I've learned this season is more than I could ever have imagined. I am excited to be a part of the comradery in the locker room. I look forward to starting each day with a greeting (Good Morning David!) and having conversations with my amazing teammates. Our potential is limitless and I am so fortunate to be part of a team that is never willing to give up. As an individual, it would be exciting to be on top of the leaderboards, but that's not what does it for me. I want to be a part of a team that builds each other up and grows as a unit. That's what Davos is. So what's the future of Matteo Stefano? Hard work, determination, friendship, positivity, leadership, hope, grit, and if everything works out, winning. Thank you for having me for this interview. I look forward to what the future holds in the VHL."

1. We're down in our series. No matter how it goes, was this season a success. 2. How do you feel about the end of the VHLE? 3. Will your plan for you player change now that the E is gone? 4. Which VHL team is best set up for the future? 5. Which stadium seats are worse, behind someone who's really tall, or way back in the highest seats? 6. What's the best pump up music? -

1. At the trade deadline, we acquired Yaroslav Trunov! What are your thoughts on Davos’ new addition? Being on the same line as them, I think I've really benefited from the veteran presence. 2. How do you feel about our squad at this point in the season? I'm really happy with our performance. All our rookies have stepped up and helped this team become a playoff team. I'm excited to see what we can do in the playoffs. 3. Have you ever gotten burnt out by the VHL’s weekly tasks? How do you get back on track/earn TPE consistently? I feel like I'm at that point right now. There are work things that are taking a lot of my time and it's hard to put the energy toward a media spot or graphic. Seeing other PT tend to motivate me to push through. 4. If there was an emergency backup situation, how do you think your player would fare in the crease for Davos if called upon? (the inverse for our goalie AKK— how would your tendy do as a skater?) Not well. Stefano is pretty small and doesn't fill out the net very much. I think he has the hockey sense, but doesn't have enough experience. 5. Should the trivia system be overhauled or changed in any way for newer members? I don't think it should be changed. I think the answers should be more accessible though. I have found that the new stats page is much better now for finding those older stats records. 6. What is your favorite point task to do in the VHL? I do like graphics. Putting together my card collection has been fun to see all of them in one place. 7. What is the proper way to pronounce the word GIF? GIF 8. I like to bring this question back every so often as some may have noticed: is a hot dog a sandwich? No, it's a taco.
