  1. 1. Beating my friends and having bragging rights for the year. 2. As a biased Flyers fan I love the 2012 Winter Classic jerseys, but I also love the 2008-2013 Hurricane Alternates. 3. Don't eat a lot of fast food but the one I eat the most is definitely Wawa. (Most of you won't know what that is.) 4. I fell down the stairs carrying a cup of freshly brewed coffee, spilling it all over myself burning the ever living shit out of myself. It hurt so bad I didn't even feel the pain from falling down the steps just the scolding hot coffee all over my nuts. 5. Fine we are .500 and 5th in the Metro. I'd prefer they do worst tho. 6. Its hard not to say Winnipeg or Dallas vs Florida or Carolina.
  2. So seems like its best to be the team that takes the least amount of penalties in general. But if you're not the best at taking few penalties you should just focus on having a really solid PK. Its an interesting read and idea. Id be interested to see where the most disciplined teams sit in standings every season compared to the most killer teams.

  5. 1. Id get SH and PC to 70 then put some in FO and the rest in OV. 2. Can't go wrong with the Selanne Skeet Shoot. 3. Dedicated. 4. Landman. It should be coming out in November. Its a Taylor Sheridan TV Series and I love everything that man touches. 5. Pay off all my debt. Pay for a nice but simple wedding and get a nice starter home. The rest I would invest. 6. Well I Love Lengua (Beef Tongue), just like our great GM @ucyXpher. But I also will eat anything. I love Haggis and Scrapple and most people think theyre gross.
  6. This is awesome! I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened. ...but I know what happened... or do I?

  8. 1. Having two good goalies is amazing. Webber III is an absolute stud, he is a brick wall in the crease. Powers is still up and coming and earning a lot so he will definitely be great in the upcoming season. Having both of these guys on our team makes sure that we will have a great netminder now and in the future. 2. I think Halifax has the highest ceiling to improve so I think we will be in 3rd by the end of the regular season. 3. I think there are 2 main reasons why we have such a good GA. The first is because of Webber III being an absolute brick shithouse and stopping everything in his path. The second is we don't take many penalties compared to other teams and when we do we have a stellar PK. 4. My go to move 1 on 1 with the goalie in a shootout is the Datsyuk Flip. 5. Before every game Bolivar has Pote Asturiano; a white bean stew with chorizo, blood sausage, and ham shoulder, as his pregame meal and after every win he has a bottle of Sidra after the game. Bolivar also carves a notch into is stick for every point he gets during a season. 6. My go to candy at Halloween was always Butterfingers. It seemed like no ones else liked them so they were always available at houses and easy to trade for.
  9. Halifax is home to Jon Webber III (@Webberj), a top tier VHLM goaltender. Webber III has spent his entire VHLM career with the Halifax 21st. In his time with Halifax so far he has started 139 games winning an astonishing 72% of those games. He broke Halifax’s Wins record for a goalie in S94 at 76 Wins, but recently just hit the 100 Wins mark after a 3-2 OT Win over Mississauga, where Webber III stopped 20 out of 22 shots. With this being Webber III’s final season in Halifax, as he was drafted by the Warsaw Predators 34th Overall in the S94 VHL Entry Draft, he still has time to stretch his lead in order to make his mark on Halifax last for many years. Wins however is not the only record Webber III has in his sights. If he continues to be successful this season, he very well could hold the GAA record as well as most shutouts by a netminder. On top of breaking records Webber III has also won the Benoit Devereux Trophy in S94; the way he has been performing this year could put him in contention to win another. The only thing Webber III could add to his list of accomplishments this season is a Founder’s Cup, and most likely an eventual raising of 91 into the Halifax rafters, further solidifying himself as the greatest goaltender in Halifax history. 10. Welcome to our second episode of All Aboard. Join your hosts @SMYLS4 and @flyersfan345 as they discuss the ins and outs and ups and downs of the VHLM this week. This podcast is a week by week update of the VHLM with a small segment focused on their own Halifax 21st. 11. 1. I think given the rough stretch of games and my stint on the first line, I've been happy with how my player is performing. 2. I think our defense is good, we no longer take a lot of penalties, which is definitely helping us keep games closer. I think everyone increasing their defense as a whole will help the team in the long run. 3. If I were to do a team meal it would have to be something easier enough to do for a large group of people. So id probably just do my family's sauce with pasta, meatballs, sausage, and braciola. 4. Being nautical themed I don't see how you could stray away from the blue and white. Maybe different shades of blue or like a purple or orange I guess. 5. My favorite sport movie has to be Major League. Its just too funny. 6. Yes I do. Recently I've been playing NHL and Black Ops 6 for the Zombies.
  12. The Halifax 21st are currently sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with 6 PTS (3 Wins 7 Losses). They are 3-4 PTS out of the pack and have gone on a 4 game losing streak. They seem to be having trouble locating the back of the net, this along with the large amount of penalties they have taken and low Penalty Kill % has led to them quickly falling to last place in the conference. Even though Halifax has been on a pretty bad losing and scoring streak, their goaltending has been playing phenomenally. Chad Powers and John Webber III are the reason games have even been close. If Halifax is going to start winning games they are going to need to score some more goals to help their goaltending out. But I don’t think they will stay at the bottom for long. They have a lot of great first gen players who are quickly developing. Hopefully this will help round out the team and lead to more success in the future.
  13. 1. Its hard to choose just one, but I'm really excited to see how Chad Powers continues to develop. He has been doing good so far considering he is a First Gen. But he has been working hard and has really started growing in OVR. I look forward to seeing how he does this season. 2. I was honestly surprised I was chosen as an Alternate/Assistant Captain. I am extremely honored to carry the A and will wear it proudly. I think the other two captains picked will do a great job as well. They are very vocal and good guys in the locker room. 3. My goal for this season is to keep improving and try and help my team win. I'd love to be in the Top 10 for Assists in the league and if lucky maybe points, but time will tell how that goes. 4. I think Assists is the most important for me right now. Just making sure I'm setting up my teammates and creating scoring opportunities. +/- Is also something I need to get up. I don't want to be a detriment to my team and allow too many goals when I'm on the ice. 5. Maybe the Halifax Helmsmen. I like the nautical theme for Halifax since its known as a port city. It would be cool to play into it a bit more. 6. Fighting is a critical aspect of Hockey and I don't think it should go away. You need to be able to stand up for your teammates and make sure guys won't continue to mess with them. Hitting is all apart of the game and sometimes a big hit on a star guy calls for someone to step in and challenge the hitter.
  14. I had some issues with my mic and it didn't record the audio as separate tracks, so my audio is kind of quiet and Matt's is a bit too loud. So next episode I'll hopefully remedy this issue.

  16. +10 TPE Pelayo Bolivar
  17. Answers: 1. This is my first year in the league. I watched the VHLM draft live as I was being drafted. I was honestly quite surprised by the production of the draft. I thoroughly enjoyed it, it was a lot of fun and really cool. I look forward to watching them next season. 2. I get that the drafts are already long and you don't want them to go on forever, but I think it would be cool to hear from some of the GMs why they picked certain players. It would be interesting to see what caught their attention or what their plan is for drafting said player. 3. Every Halloween I rewatch old Horror movies. Anything from the 60s-80s. Most of them are beyond terrible but its always fun to see what people thought was scary at that time. Questions: 1. What is your all time favorite Horror movie? 2. If you could replace any NHL team with a VHL/VHLM team which would you pick and why? 3. What do you think is the most important position/role on the ice? What are your reasons for picking said position/role?
  18. Today I am honored to sit down with Pelayo Bolivar, a rising star in the VHLM who was recently drafted 24th Overall by the Halifax 21st. Bolivar has really taken a huge step in his career, entering into the VHLM after his short yet successful stint in the LNHH. Interviewer: Good morning Pelayo, I’m grateful you took some time out of your busy day to sit down and chat with me about yourself. Bolivar: Encantado. The pleasure is all mine. Interviewer: After your success in the LNHH, what made you decide to enter the VHLM draft? Why not stay in Spain with CH Jaca and try to win another championship? Bolivar: Growing up I always wanted to one day play with the best of the best. I felt like I accomplished everything I could in Spain, and the next step was to try and make the move overseas. So it was between entering the NHL or the VHL. After meeting with a couple of GMs from both leagues I felt like the VHL had more to offer. That is why I entered the VHLM draft. Interviewer: Did you have a lot of interest from teams after you declared for the draft? Bolivar: I had 5 teams reach out to me for pre-draft interviews: Halifax, Houston, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, and Ottawa. I felt like Halifax and Houston showed the most interest after my interview. Interviewer: Well it seems like Halifax really liked you since they drafted you at 24th. I even heard rumors they were contemplating taking you at 9th. Were you surprised with how the draft went for you? Were you expecting to go higher or lower in the draft? Bolivar: I honestly was quite surprised. In Spain we are not known for being the best hockey players, it's not a very well scouted region. I was expecting myself to go in a later round, maybe 5th or 6th. So when I got drafted early in the 3rd I was quite surprised. Interviewer: What would you attribute to your rise in the draft rankings? Bolivar: I really think having the opportunity to play in the Pro-am and the Junior Showcase Tournaments helped get my name out there. A lot more people had eyes on me which I think helped quite a bit. Interviewer: Speaking of the Pro-am and Junior Showcase, how do you think your performance has been in the tournaments so far? Bolivar: The Junior Showcase I feel like I’ve done pretty well so far. You always hope you can do better so we’ll see how the rest of the tournament goes. As for the Pro-am, it's been difficult adjusting to the style of play. There’s a lot of really good players in the tournament. Honestly I was surprised I even got a roster spot. I haven’t really done much yet, as I’m still pointless; but the experience alone I think has been really beneficial. Interviewer: What are your hopes for the upcoming season with Halifax? Bolivar: Hopefully we can win it all. That’s the goal. I plan on giving everything I have to help my team succeed. Maybe I can even lead the team in some categories. I’m very excited for the season to start. I look forward to getting started. Interviewer: Thank you very much for speaking with me. I wish you the best of luck in the upcoming season. Bolivar: De nada. I will take my chances with my skill any day rather than tener la negra.
  19. @flyersfan345 -- 513 TPE @EensyZiak --
  20. Position: Center Height: 6'0" Weight: 200 lbs Current Team: Halifax 21st Overview: Pelayo Bolivar is a strong playmaking center who has the ability to impact the game on both ends of the ice. At 6'0" and 200 pounds, Bolivar combines size, strength, and agility to make an impact in all areas of the game. His ability to control the tempo and drive play makes him a valuable asset, particularly in key situations like faceoffs and powerplays. By far Bolivar’s greatest aspect of the game is his chance creation and offensive production. Strengths: Bolivar’s playmaking and passing are on another level. His ability to see the ice and openings makes it seem like he can see the future. Bolivar’s size allows him to take space and draw defensive pressure to create great chances for his linemates. He is able to make difficult passes look easy. This makes him a huge advantage and a serious threat on the powerplay. As a center, having a strong faceoff taking ability is very important. Bolivar is a phenomenal faceoff winner, which helps him control the tempo of the game and win possession in big game moments. With his 6 foot 200 pound frame, Bolivar has a strong physical presence on the ice. He’s not afraid to get down and dirty and drive the corners. Bolivar’s size and strength make him a formidable forechecker and back checker. Even with his larger size, Bolivar is quick with his hands. His puck handling abilities are exceptionally good. He is able to deceive defenders with his dekes and create better odd-man scoring opportunities. Areas for Improvement: While Bolivar has a strong physical presence on the ice, his acceleration and top speed could be better. He struggles keeping up with some of the elite skaters on the ice. Though he’s solid at setting up plays and controlling the puck, Bolivar could benefit from becoming more of a consistent scoring threat himself. His shot is pretty weak and not extremely accurate. Given his physical style of play, Bolivar can sometimes be prone to taking unnecessary penalties. Learning to play more effective defense and avoid costly penalties will be essential as he progresses. Even though Bolivar is a gritty physical player, he struggles defensively. He should not be a team’s first option on penalty kills. Bolivar definitely needs to improve his defensive awareness as well as his checking.
  21. Halifax made some big picks in the S96 VHLM Draft. Picking up 4 centers, 2 wingers, 2 defenseman, and a goaltender; Halifax is definitely looking to make big strides in the S96 season. There will definitely be a need for some of the center depth to play on the wings, which shouldn't be a problem with this deep roster. Halifax’s 10th and 14th pick brought in some really promising young defenseman, in Cysteine and Petr Novak. After the draft the GM was quick to hit up the Free Agency market in order to acquire another defenseman in Mikko Tuomala. These 3 prospects should give Halifax an edge when it comes to their defensive core. Halifax also drafted a goalie which will be very much needed with the chance that 1 or 2 of the goalies move up to the VHL at some point in the season. The Halifax 21st have a great roster heading forward. The sky's the limit with this squad.
  22. 1. I think Halifax's draft went really well. I think our draft class has a lot of talent. 2. I think Halifax is going to towards the top of the standings. We have a great defensive core and a lot of depth up front. 3. My team bonding activity would be to take the squad to watch the Leafs lose in round one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. 4. As I am biased because of the Flyers and the fact that orange is my favorite color, I would love to see the color orange in our jerseys. 5. I think the Dallas Stars will win the cup. I picked them last year to win so hopefully I won't be wrong again. I think the depth on that team is ridiculous. 6. I enjoy watching Sumo, which a lot of people look at me like I am crazy.
