  1. I guess Victor just has to come in and make the call, otherwise we'll probably just keep running in circles
  2. That's too big of a change imho to just implement it and would need some further discussion instead. Let's stick to the simpler things for now and not do too much at once. I wouldn't take the training camp points away from the achievement tracker or any other PT by the way. If you aren't a recreate it is still pretty hard to get TPE, a rookie camp won't really change that.
  3. Yeah this has about run it's course. Let's institute VHLM training camp and then close this shit
  4. Those things aren't mutually exclusive though. Obviously we should promote activity in the VHLM-sections but this can't be the only step we take...
  5. We are doing that, I think this thread has already helped quite a bit with the changes that were made to the Waiver system and by putting some pressure on the VHLM-GMs to be more active. Obviously there could still be done more but apparently there is no majority for more drastic moves like reducing the number of VHLM teams from 10 to 6.
  6. Training camp would be a way to reward actives though, in my opinion it would be both incentive and reward. Because you wouldn't be able to use the TPE right after registering, but would have to wait until you are drafted or claimed by a team. So we'd use the training camp to reward those people that log in again some time after they've registered. Besides, it doesn't really make any sense that there is a training camp in the VHL but not in the VHLM, both from a realism standpoint and from a fairness standpoint.
  7. It's a pretty interesting case indeed. Two teams that were on the same level last season (we were actually a bit better), but then one of the gets some help through Free Agency, which allows them to trade some futures, while the other team doesn't get anyone. And then this leads to one of our better players telling us that he would be testing the market as well because of that and basically forces us to trade him, if we don't want to be left with nothing after this season. @Higgins: We didn't shut the Helsinki down completely if I remember correctly, or at least I didn't. We just preferred looking at some other options first because as you said, the deal wouldn't really have worked for us with Glass included.
  8. Another German? Wooooooooooooooo
  9. It doesn't stop people from going inactive later, but in general I think it would be a good incentive to have some points to distribute once you join a team. Also, the VHL has a training camp, so why shouldn't the VHLM have one?
  10. Can't help but think of that gif whenever I see you Sig
  11. This class has really developed nicely over the last week or so, it looked pretty bad before that but a now a bunch of very promising players have joined
  12. There aren't many free goalie spots at the moment so this would probably be the toughest position to create a player for, but other than that you should be fine. Every type of skater should work, be it forward or defenseman, big or small, sniper or power forward... You are free to choose whatever you think will be the most fun for you
  13. It sounds pretty similar to kovy17 and Kuzie17 but I think we can be sure that they aren't him . Or can we ...
  14. Something else I would do to make it easier for players to get active again is getting rid of some of the deadlines. For example don't close training camp after a few days but let it stay open all season (maybe add a VHLM training camp as well), so that players that were inactive but come back don't have even more of a disadvantage because they missed the free training camp points, they missed out on enough PTs/Welfare already. Another example are the free christmas points, I think we should eliminate the "members who registered within the last two weeks" clause and just allow everyone to at least claim the free doubles week. This should be possible until next years christmas handout start. I just think it could go a long way in motivating someone who was inactive to come back full time if he sees that there are some points available that he can distribute right away to improve a player, and that not everything that he missed while he was gone has gone to waste completely. We wouldn't be handing out any unearned points by this but just eliminate something that could be really demotivating for someone who might be willing to get active again.
  15. Holy shit I didn't know you could get that much praise here with some basic geography knowledge
  16. Welcome to the league! Do you already have an idea what kind of player you want to make ?
  17. No way a ten team junior league will ever work as well as it should, but that's just my opinion.
  18. Despite all the problems there are, we need to try it. We had like 10 actives in the most recent junior draft and even in very good years we maybe get 15 or 20 at best. This isn't nearly enough to support 10 teams (even 8 would be too many imho) and we can't just keep saying "Well this is how it is now and changing it would be too complicated." And there are at least a couple of possible solutions: Bot-teams, running the VHLM in a separate Sim (with a new Simmer, so that would take some work off Jardys shoulders as well. Some interetsing ideas in there, the TPE-cap for teams sounds rather drastic but it might be something worth thinking about. And like some others, I'm absolutely in favor of a fully randomized draft ranking to discourage teams from tanking. Although I think such a lottery would only really work in a smaller league, and maybe a snake-draft should go along with it.
  19. I was thinking about that as well, but I thought it might be too harsh. Definitely a thought worth considering though, we should really take some of the incentives to tank away.
