After another day of practice Leroy was tired of just missing what seemed to be a ton of shots for a hockey player at least. At one point he even went out of goal and slammed his stick into the plexiglass. It seemed to just bounce of that was until he skated at full speed into it and broke out of the rink.

 

 Coach doomsday was furious with him. Right away ended practice and called Leroy into the  office to talk. They discussed what was wrong with him he explained about how he couldn’t deal with the pain of his best friend retiring and going In active from everyone for the past week. He said he also felt sad about the recent event of his father passing away and with all that going on he just wanted to release his anger. Coach explained to him that doing that isn’t always the right thing to do and he should visit a place where he’s never felt down before to feel happy again. So with that he was off on their 5 day game break to his hometown.

 

Arriving home wasn’t quite as exciting as expected. Well… that was until people saw him. Everyone asking for pictures and autographs left and right. He has finally completed his childhood dream. He wanted to be a hometown hero and that’s what everyone viewed him as now. But he didn’t feel like he was happy and back to himself yet. Late at night around 2:30 A.M he made his way down to the first place he ever stepped foot on a hockey rink. and the moment he walked through the door he knew something was weird just like everything on this trip. There was someone skating he called and said “hey who are you” and the voice that called back he didn’t even need a name before he took of running “it’s me Bahram” and he was so shocked but also so happy. They spent the rest of the night talking about what had happened and what was going to happen for the rest of their lives. They would ultimately regain that bond again over the next few weeks. And that is the story of how Leroy Johnson went from friends to not sure to friends.
