Druss Deathwalker is enjoying a fine sophomore campaign with the Malmo Nighthawks in S78. The team’s captain and the VHL leader in hits has doubled almost every stat from his rookie season as he looks to keep the Nighthawks in the playoff race. With the season drawing to a close here’s how Deathwalker’s second season has played out in comparison to the first.

Deathwalker has really improved his offensive game although with only 17 points in his rookie season the only place to go was up. Being on the top line definitely has helped and he’s responded with 20 goals so far over double the 8 from last season, 34 assists almost four times as many as the 9 in his rookie year, which combines for 54 points over triple last year’s total of 17. He has thrown over twice as many shots with 263 compared to 112 which probably directly relates to the higher goal total. He has five power play goals up from three and two game-winning goals after posting one in S77.

Defensively and physically, the huge winger has increased his stats as well with his -14 going up to a +3, 179 penalty minutes up from 117 and of course, going from 7th in the league with 317 hits last season to leading the VHL in hits for most of this season, currently with 351.

He hopes this production will keep increasing into the playoffs to help Malmo go deep.
