Hello, my name is Masu Chan. I am a new player in the Victory Hockey League and was directed here from a video made by Adam Couser. To be honest I wasn't sure what to expect going into this, all he pointed out in his video is that you got to make a player and get drafted. I had no idea the league was run by humans and I didn't expect so much involvement. This is not a shot at Adam, I didn't expect him to actually play as he is a newer fan and I love his videos and highly recommend them.

At first I was a bit nervous and hesitant, trying to remain as professional as I could and felt awkward when I tried to make a joke. Luckily though the people who were managing the Junior Showcase Tournament made me feel right at home, we had casual conversations and it was just like talking to some new friends.

I figured I'd share the experience with one of my close friends and invited him to the league. We made a backstory for our characters together, his character being a large defender named JP and my character being a small left wing by the name of Mason Jones. So far we've had a ton of fun and hope to one day play for the same team.

I wasn't sure how much work I'd put in at first, I figured I'd just do the practice facilities and take the welfare every month and watch how my character simmed. But the more I talked to the management of the Junior Showcase Tournament the more interesting and invested I became, it didn't even take a full day before I was hooked.

I am now taking part in the first ever VHL junior showcase tournament as the first ever Captain of the Steel. An honor that I will not live down, hopefully the captains that follow behind me realize how special this experience is and bring the same honor to the Steel as I hope to.

Like I have stated before, I want to contribute to this league and find cool ways to improve what the amazing people here have built in any way I can and I'm already fantasizing about one day running a VHL team as a GM. I have a long career ahead of me here and when it's all done I hope number 43 will hang from the rafters of the team I am lucky enough to be drafted to.

To my knowledge this is the first Junior showcase tournament and may be the only one ever. Hopefully that's not the case, I want the Steel to live on, especially because the logo designed for it was my favorite. On Top of that the GM's in the J.S.T. really helped me understand and weren't afraid to make a newbie like me a captain to show their support for the Prospects.

For those reading this, thank you. And for those who follow after me, good luck and welcome to the VHL.

It’s always the slightly tricky part with having ads done. It’s not something that can be explained well in 30 seconds but to go into too much detail is likely to just overwhelm. I assure you we are humans though, have been for the full 14 years the league has been running. It definitely gets you hooked.
