It's been a fairly uneventful season so far for the New York Americans. The team appears to be a well balanced squad with a slightly less potent offence and slightly worse goaltender than last season. Regardless, the team remains at the top of the standings so far this season. Third year forward Tom Slaughter is struggling to find consistency early on in the season and may be a candidate for a drop in production from last season. Slaughter remains unphased by his seemingly poorer play this year.

"I think we have a real good team and coach has tasked XXX and I with shutting down other team's top units. I think we've played out role really well this season. We're sitting at the top of the North American standings so who in their right mind could complain with the resutls so far. I have a feeling I'll turn some of the offensive stats around and give a boost to the guys who drafted me early on in their fantasy drafts this summer," Slaughter said.
