Sova's Future

       After getting swept by Moscow, Malmo’s chance of becoming back to back cup champs has come to an end, leaving the many question marks surrounding the team at the forefront of everyones mind heading into the off-season.  With confirmation that GM @hylands will be stepping down, and that star forward @BOOM will be leaving the team, a major void will be left to fill for the Nighthawks.  The roster consists of a mixture of aging players and players at the beginning of their careers however the core ultimately seems to remain in tact.  With the addition of @Minion, who recently signed with the team that drafted him, the teams future still holds a lot of potential up front.  Defenceman and pending UFA Tui Sova was recently questioned during the teams locker room clean out about his future with the club and had this to say; “I love Malmo and my teammates and the culture we have created here.  Obviously winning a cup with this group was an amazing experience and I have nothing but respect for every person in this room.  But at the end of the day, I gotta sit down with my agent and decide what’s best for me as a player, and my overall career going forward.  The belief now is that I will be testing market this off season, to see what else is out there for me.  My agent feels that I have worked hard enough to earn a #1 Dman role, something that doesn’t seem possible right now in Malmo.  I need to reiterate though that I do love being a Nighthawk, and this does not count out a return to Malmo, it’s simply a move to explore all available avenues.”
