Malmo captain Druss Deathwalker sits in the stall waiting for the reporters to gather around. He absently tugs his beard. His jersey is still on. He quickly scans the locker room seeing his beloved teammates sitting, showering, soddenly talking into microphones, slowly peeling off the Nighthawk crest that they had battled so hard for. After sweeping the Warsaw Predators in four games, the Nighthawks then were swept by the Moscow Menace, ending their season and title defense.

It stings bad,” Deathwalker says, emotion crackling in his voice. “We knew Moscow was a good team but we believed we could beat them. After not scoring a power play goal against Warsaw, we worked on that and then our special teams were great in this series but our 5-on-5 dried up. We outshot them a couple games, they outshot us a couple games. But we can’t win a series scoring two goals a game. Not in this league.

Asked how it felt to get the go-ahead goal in the second period in Game 4 but only to see the lead slip through in the third, he said, “Man, I was so thrilled to get us to 2-1. I thought we could pull it off, send it to Game 5. But we let them back in it. Kudos to them, they’re a good team. But we’ll be back next season. We have unfinished business.

Just kidding Telker, we know you don't bathe.

@animal74

It was an honour to play alongside you and get to know you a bit more these last two seasons. Deathwalker is a quality player and I have no doubt that you will be back and even better. All the best.

Ah, @BOOM, you'll be missed in the LR. Your quirky humor was (almost) always appreciated.

It was an honor to skate with you during your breakout seasons. Good luck where ever the die may lead you!
