After a whirlwind of a first offseason for this General Manager tonight’s the night, game night! Of course we couldn’t have gotten here without picking up a few new faces along the way. One of said faces happens to be the 12th overall selection and our 2nd round pick, Alexandre Leduc! Leduc profiles as an undersized forward who is making the transition from Wing to Center. When asked for comment on his big weekend, Alexandre had the below to say:

 

“”I’m very excited to play in a new league with this team. It will be challenging, but where is the fun without a challenge. I think that the Cologne Express made a good choice selecting me in the draft I think I will be a great asset for them and I’m exited for this new chapter.””

 

Of course we also were able to pick up Maximus Decimus Meridius at second overall, who profiles as an elite scorer and will slot in at the top winger position. With our later round picks we were able to snag a trio of exciting young forwards, a project defenseman, and a promising young Goalie talent!

 

Via free agency we went big fish hunting and reeled up Mats Zucarello (no not the one in the NHL)! Zucc will start the season with Maximus and Pippo (more on that soon) on our top line, where we expect big production!

 

Via trade with Bratislava we decided to make the tough choice of trading inaugural season draft pick Sting Chameleon in order to address a pressing need down the middle. Of course you know that player we acquired is none other than the great Pippo! Teammates of my friend Sven Eightnine he came with a glowing recommendation, and I believe you’d be hard pressed to find a more well rounded team than ours heading into opening week.
