Hey, I have 2 TPE to earn trough a VHL.com article so why not deliver a message from it? I've been thinking about it for a while and I want to talk about the recent events in the league, not to justify them but more to give my thought about how the community reacted to those events.

Unless you live under a rock, you probably noticed that there has been a lot of people caught using multis lately which is something that is forbidden in this league and therefore, punishments followed. When we post these punishments in the ban thread the reason behind it is to make it known that these things are not allowed here and actions are taken. But lately, members are taking it as a wall of shame and hold on them for days, calling them names and treating them like they are pests. Nobody here is perfect, we all make mistakes and that's what make us humans. I don't believe that anyone here has never done anything they regret. Let them learn from it and please stop throwing rocks at them. I hope it won't happen to any of you but the day that one of you guys will be the one who screwed up and need to ask the others for forgiveness you will understand why this is something we have to work on as a community.

So let me simply ask. Can we just move on?

I'm probably going to be flagged as hypocritical about this, but this is one of the reasons I avoid the VHL Discord.

Some drama happens and it dissolves into what I'd classify as 'meme culture' for half a month.

Has this happened at all outside of the Kachur ban? I honestly haven't seen much I'd call name-calling or hanging on to things for days on end apart from that (maybe some in AJ's thread, but that was one thing that happened yesterday and there hasn't been anything posted there for a while).

IMO it's natural for the community to not just...shrug off and move on from the Kachur thing at the very least because that was cowardly, manipulative, and mindblowing and it's easily the biggest news of the last couple weeks or so. And it's also natural to talk about the fact that we've had a lot of multi-based punishments lately. In fact, it's perfectly natural (and perfectly fine) for the community to react to any punishment at all, especially those of the unexpected sort we've seen lately. We shouldn't be expected to just see someone get yeeted and have nothing at all to say about it. I don't think this is exactly what you're saying, but at times in the past we've crossed a little bit into "you shouldn't talk about bans" territory, an idea which it's no secret that I don't like.

IF it is true that the people who have been punished lately have been harassed for it, I agree that that isn't cool. Has it happened on a level that we can say it's a problem for the community in general, outside of and beyond one or two people making a passive-aggressive post once or twice? I ask that genuinely, because I know I might be missing something. I'm unaware of anything I'd call a community problem (meaning, I'm unaware of the not-banned-but-punished members being treated like parasites by most people), which is why I kind of interpreted this as an unwarranted callout. So sure, in short, if the community in general is being mean to people, it's fair to call out the community for it. But is that happening, or do we just have a "not every single person is behaving perfectly" situation?

ftfy, agreed with everything else you said

I have zero regrets as that isn`t the way I view life. We are all presented with situations and we simple make the best choice that we have at that time and place. Does that mean we made the right choice always? Nope, but you cannot regret making a choice that you thought was the best at the time. Regrets also means you are focused too much on the past and are about to be blind sided by the present or future. Always keep you head high and look ahead for the next opportunity as you cannot change the past as you did your best at that time and opportunity so should be proud of choice that you made either view as right or wrong as they still happened and there is no changing that fact.
