Oslo Player Spotlights

The Oslo Storm has not had the most successful of seasons this year. They currently hold a 19-29-8 record, which is good enough for third place in the amazingly weak European Conference. Fortunately, despite the teams overall lack of success, several players have been able to find individual success. Today, we’re going to take a look at a few players on the Storm roster that have overcome the challenges of being on such a weak team.

Vladamir Komarov (D)

Oslo Defenseman Vladamir Komarov.

Vladamir Komarov is a Russian born defenseman. Standing at a whopping 76 inches, he has made a name for himself throughout the league as a heavy hitter. He was drafted by the Storm in the third round of the Season 39 VHLM Dispersal Draft, and has since proved that he was an absolute steal for the Storm at that stage of the draft. It has been said that, to this day, the Oslo management is puzzled as to why other VHLM GMs let him fall that far down the draft board.

Regardless of when he was picked, Komarov emerged as not only an exceptional force on the blue line, but as a leader. He was named as the team captain for Season 39 and has played a huge part in motivating and encouraging his team. Through 56 games, Vladamir has amassed 14 goals and 35 assists, for a total of 49 points; impressive for a rookie defenseman. However, more impressive is the 216 hits that he has dished out so far this season. That number is good enough for second in the league, only behind the vicious Tyler Cote.

Christoph Klose (RW)

Christoph Klose, a German born winger who currently serves as Oslo’s point-leader and assistant captain. Drafted by Oslo in the second round, at 18th Overall, Klose has grown into one of the leagues premier forwards. Despite being one of the leagues oldest players, at 34 years old, Klose has proved time and time again that he can keep up with the younger players in the league.

Through 56 games, Klose has racked up 43 goals and 52 assists, for a total of 95 points, which is good enough for second place among right-wingers. While Klose has been developing slower than other players, no doubt due to his age, he has been consistently growing as a player and is expected to be dominant next season as he is currently planning on spending a second season in the minors.

That was just a very brief look at two of the players who have really come up big for the Oslo Storm this season. There are several more, and they will certainly be covered in subsequent editions. Although unlikely, we hope that the Storm can at least make some sort of a splash as the league barrels towards the Season 39 Playoffs.

Content: 3/3 Vladamir Komarov is a beast at that height. He has been doing work and it has been showing off. On the other hand Christoph Klose has

been playing pretty solid on offense. Scoring points at will is something that comes naturally to him.
Grammar: 2/2 Nothing to dock for

Appearance: 1/1

Final: 6/6
