GM's On The Hot Seat

VHL

Tyler Barabash - Seattle Bears
When Tyler was awarded the General Managerial duties of the Seattle Bears, he was thrust into a less-than-ideal situation where Seattle was in the midst of embarking into a new direction. The team was on the cusp of a rebuild and with a decimated roster, Tyler had minimal assets to work with, which made the transition difficult for all involved. However, despite the challenges that Tyler faced with trying to assemble a competitive roster; something that was out of his control for the time being, Tyler remains a potential candidate to be replaced as General Manager of the Seattle Bears. Roster management, or lack thereof is one thing, but the disappearing act and a lack of motivation to do the job or motivate those around you are also strong reasons why the hierarchy powers to be will assess the direction and the best interests of the franchise moving forward. You never want to be replacing managers in the VHL, but in this case, there are a lot of disappointed people involved with the club that would like to see a change take place. Barabash previously was the General Manager with the Davos Dynamo and had been replaced due to the same reasons. Morale is a big thing with rebuilding teams and it's not enough to stand pat and wait for things to unfold, cause that could take a while.

VHLM

Zach Gagnon - Minot Gladiators
The situation in Minot has the Gladiators in a conundrum, where several trades were made in order to obtain future assets, but one of the issues surrounding that as a last place team is also the fact that minimal waiver claims have been placed to at least be somewhat relevant in the VHLM. Minot was once a proud and rich organization, but has also floundered over the last few seasons, seeing attendance drop considerably to the point where there is a concern about the teams future in Minot. In order to revamp and replenish that faith from the supporters, maybe a change is in order? Not only are these the obvious issues, but throughout the season, the only active player for the team wanted out for obvious reasons, which his wishes were never carried out by team management. The VHLM is about development and maintaining activity from the prospects, and if you have to make a deal in order to keep all involved happy, then that is what has to happen. After all, developing morale is not only beneficial for these players in the VHLM, but for their future in the VHL. If you stunt their interest in the VHLM now, it could have damaging effects on their VHL career.

Seth Plaut - Bratislava Watchmen
It's one thing to load and gear up for two seasons in advance, but to sit and do virtually nothing for those two seasons could have a damaging effect on your job.  What it is saying to everyone is that you are content doing nothing until your obtained draft selections come into effect. In my opinion, if you are a last place team that is rebuilding, you should be making several claims in order to contribute to the VHLM in a developmental kind of way, meaning that the goal should be to develop if you aren't competing, otherwise, you are sitting to have one or two good seasons and then back to rebuilding, which changes the focus of what the VHLM is really about. If waiver claims are made, the prospects at least get top line minutes to secure points to build confidence as opposed to playing 3rd or 4th line minutes elsewhere and not contributing at all. It would also create a healthy locker room, where you can help mentor some of these claims, bring them along and keep them motivated to do point tasks each week. Keeping in contact with these prospects and taking the time out to show them a thing or two around here means more to these guys than you would think. This isn't to say that Seth's job is in jeopardy, but it's a trend that could land the General Manager of the Watchmen on the opposite side of the fence.

Sorry, but I am going to respectfully disagree with your rational. First, I have tried my best to keep an active locker-room with the players I currently have. I went on vacation for a week, and have been dealing with some personal issues as of late. So while my locker-room is not as active as I wish for it to be, I certainly try to do my best to make it fun for my current players. Second, I just claimed a player off waivers, and for the past, I allowed more successful teams to claim them purposely, so they would have more opportunists to play in the playoffs. I have kept all my players in touch with my plans for the team, and they are all unequivocally on board. I thoroughly believe I have no businesses being placed on the aforementioned list.

Replace Seth with Edgar. Edgar is sitting at 0 TPE with his player that belongs to the Legion. Not to mention if he is banking and going to add all that later, that he is making it even worse for the Achievement Tracker. Hate to be this harsh, but that shows direct ineptitude as a GM. Under no circumstances should any members bank TPE in the minors. If they are they are close to the 175 cap and would be pushed over the cap anyways. And Boubabi questioned my logic.
