diacope 1,696
Hello Ottawa Lynx fans and welcome back to another year of handing out the metal, it was a tough road all season but with a little bit of patience and elbow grease we ended up having a run at the cup, thanks to everyone who stuck around and updated, hopefully it was a fun season for all! Alright lets do this!! First up is the "Deadliest Pouncher Medal" (offensive mastermind) Nominees are.. PWR W/C Chip Stone TWY W/D Mikayev Ivanovitch SCR C Juan Sano IIi SCR W Alexandre Forgues Winner is.. Spoiler Juan Sano III @denns In his first season playing as an extra forward Juan proved to the coaching staff he can take draws so with a little bit of training it was an easy adjustment to the top line this season. At the start Sano III was racking up numbers in all categories but in the end it was clear to the team and the rest of the league.. He had a shot like no other and accumulated 37 goals, 9 on the power play and also had 9 game winners. Previous Winner (SCR LW Benjamin Franklin Chang) Our second award is the "Mixed Breed Medal" (best two way threat) Nominees are.. TWY W/D Mikayev Ivanovitch OFF D Ratty Trepovsky SCR D/W Jordan Messier OFF D Bob Robb Spoiler Ratty Trepovsky @Ratty Right after draft night the Lynx knew they had a steal in Trepovsky and with plenty of room on the defense Ratty had room to work all facets of their game, in the end with a total of 62 points and a team leader in every defensive stat it's clear who our winner is this season and Treopvsky did it with a team lead +26 on the blueline. Previous Winner (TWY W Mikayev Ivanovitch) Now the third honor we have is the "Coddle Wall Medal" (defensive stud) Nominees are.. TWY D Nine TWY W/D Mikayev Ivanovitch PWR W/C Chip Stone OFF D Ratty Trepovsky Spoiler Ratty Trepovsky @Ratty Looking a little closer at our previous award winner Trepovsky we see a dominate effort with 150 hits, 123 shot blocks and nobody else comes near them in those areas like we said before, with a solid plus minus and a permanent spot on the 1st PK unit.. It's an easy decision to give Ratty the award. Previous Winner (TWY C Daniel Clarke) The fourth award of the night is the "Meow! Meow!! Meow!!! Ribbon" (motivation specialist) Nominees are.. TWY C Todd Cooke HYB G Jean Mercier PWR W/C Chip Stone TWY D Jani Karppinen Spoiler Jean Mercier @Is_thatok Almost every game Mercier spoke up and motivated the team with a positive attitude and showed up to practice every week encouraging newer teammates, add in the fact every big save he continuously made only boosted the crowd or quieted it even more during close match ups so Jean definitely lead the way in this regard. - Keep up the good work! Previous Winner (PLY C Adison Bond) Halfway through the list we have our fifth achievement called the "Show Cat Task Contributor Ribbon" (hardest worker) Nominees are.. TWY D Jani Karppinen TWY C Todd Cooke HYB G Jean Mercier GRD W Hasbulla Magomedov Spoiler Jani Karppinen @ShawnGlade Damn Jani put in work and after a short time with us playing a total of 31 game before his draft year this finnish sensation was able to earn every TPE possible and even stepped up to help out as an assistant manager. - Thanks for all the hardwork out the gate.. Definitely gave me a little push to become more active again xD Previous Winner (OFF D Baxter Arcanum) Sixth Lynx award we have is the "Top Kitten Trophy" (standout rookie) Nominees are.. TWY D Jani Karppinen TWY C Todd Cooke PWR W/C Chip Stone SCR W Alexandre Forgues Spoiler Todd Cooke @l1l KRZY l9l Cooke was earning TPE as a free agent before the season began waiting for an opportunity and showed up to training camp ready to go, during the season Todd didn't stop grinding and got himself to a respectable overall before the draft with plenty of great press confernece moments any team media would love to have. In the stat department things looked good on both sides, just a little bit more priming before he hits the ice next season and we have a future VHLM star - All you need now is Discord Have fun next season! Previous Winner (OFF C Manny Wilson) Our seventh spotlight is the "Coaches Pet Drawing Board Plaque" (favorite player to use) Nominees are.. OFF D/W James Marino PWR W/C Chip Stone TWY W/D Mikayev Ivanovitch GRD W Hasbulla Magomedov Spoiler Chip Stone @DoktorFunk Not sure if my favorite thing about Chip is the super cool name reminding me of Mark Stone or how he built himself as a one of the best one timer specialists but it was super cool to experiment on every set up we had and every line spot available (except for defense), one thing I found was having high strength helped us a lot on the dot near the end and Stone didn't mind keeping the other teams guessing by playing in multiple roles - The coaching staff thanks you for full cooperation! Previous Winner (TWY D James Marino) Now the eighth award and one of my favorites is the "I'm A Big Cat Now Glass Hockey Stick & Puck" (biggest improvement) Nominees are.. SCR C Juan Sano III HYB G Jean Mercier OFF D Ratty Trepovsky SCR D/W Jordan Messier Spoiler Jordan Messier @Jordan Messier Joining us again as a free agent after an already improved run last season it was easy for Messier to adjust and take on more minutes and he did just that, playing defensive time almost all season consistently, scoring nearly point per game and also had a physical game we didn't see before.. Making Jordan a huge addition to the roster and he will be for sure remembered by the fans for stepping up. - Good luck down the road Previous Winner (HYB G Shaun Young) The ninth nod we want to give is the "Flashiest Fur Silver Mug" (coolest discord pfp) Nominees are.. SCR W Alexandre Forgues OFF D Ratty Trepovsky TWY D Jani Karppinen PWR W/C Chip Stone Spoiler Jani Karppinen @ShawnGlade What can I say? I'm a big animal lover and it's bright and welcoming.. I don't think it's been changed since knowing Glade so that's another point. Previous Winner (TWY D Faith Hope Love) Our tenth and final award is the "Most Valuable Lynx Crown" (most valuable player) Nominees are.. TWY W/D Mikayev Ivanovitch HYB G Jean Mercier OFF D Ratty Trepovsky SCR C Juan Sano III Spoiler Jean Mercier @Is_thatok The previous times before it was a hard decision because every nominee stepped up in different ways but this time around Mercier is our clear leader and is the one who stood on his head the most, earning 16 treats in the locker room and had some of the biggest performances during the VHLM season. - Thank you for joining us because we wouldn't have been contending without you Previous Winner (TWY D Deron Nesbitt) Edited June 12, 2022 by Zack jacobcarson877, denns, DoktorFunk and 1 other 2 2 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/122159-s83-ottawa-lynx-season-awards/ Share on other sites
