Our modern William Tells demonstrate on an impressive level why 'off-season' is not tantamount to 'off-duty'. At least not for the hardworking Janser clan.

We will start with Marcel and Team Europe in the S83 WJC:

2-1

In a tight match, Team Europe under the guidance of Gonçalves, Champagne and Janser lost 2-1 to Team World. Europe was on the board first with Sogaard mid-way through the first. However, Vasteras forward Chang in the second and the long missing Boudreaux in power play turned the match around for the Unicef-troupe. The three stars were Vandelay (21 saves), Boudreaux (1g/0a) and Chang (1g/0a). We think in this judgement Voss (0g/2a) was anally fisted by a circus monkey. Team Europe was getting a dose of 'getting Vandelayed' (.955 save rate), something a lot of teams in the VHLM can sing a song about. However, Mercier's saving percentage of .941 was nothing to scoff at either. Team Europe's power play was weak with 0/2 and the penalty kill decent (6/7) despite having the game winner scored against in a man disadvantage.

Marcel left the ice with a 0g, 0a, -1, 2 PIM (Slashing, lead to the fateful goal against), 1 hit and 2sb.

2-3

In an other one-goal game Europe tore the three points from USA's dead, cold hands in a 3-2 win. Gonçalves started the proceedings early in the first period, just to be equalized three minutes later by Mitchell. In the second period Hagel, re-united with Janser for the third time after their Brigade and S81 Halifax days, scored in power play. It remained the sole goal in the frame. Two minutes into the third, Pete 'the Equalizer' Mitchell evened the score again. However, an apex predator named Greg would have none of it and scored in an other power play for Team Europe for the final score. With less than two minutes to play Argos got frustrated and was looking for a fight. And a fight he got. Marcel dropped the gloves shortly followed by Argos who left the rink on a stretcher. It was a clear k.o. after an uppercut from the feisty Swiss. Spectator close to the bench claim to have Kurt Janser to have uttered something like 'Atta boy'. Mitchell (2g/0a), Sogaard (0g/2a) and Gonçalves (1g/0a) were awarded the three stars of the night. Jute (.938) and Price (.932) both showed good form with the advantage on the German netminder's side. Both special teams showed improvement with a solid power play (2/8) and an immaculate box play (3/3).

Marcel was reported with a 0g, 1a, -1, 5 PIM (Fighting, no power play) and 4sb.

Daniel with the 'Yorkshire Sissies' is not nearly as successful as his younger brother. Sissies' record stands at 1-2-1 with the results being a 8-3 defeat against the Hawks, a 2-0 defeat against the Jerseys, a 5-0 win in the rematch against the Jersey Jerseys and an 3-2 OT loss against Kodiak.

Here are the stats for the two brothers in the aggregate:

Marcel: 2gp, 0g, 1a, -2, 7 PIM, 1 hit, 6sb

Daniel: 4gp, 0g, 2a, -5, 4 PIM, 10 hits, 0sb and a 29.47FO%

We will report on news as soon as they develop.
