MetalToday 266
Well, it has been a while since we looked at Brendan Marner and how he's been doing in Warsaw. Obviously, for anyone whos been keeping up to date with this saga, Brendan Marner has been seen in many controversies. He has not gotten much better but went sober for a little while, now things are taking a bit of a turn here in Warsaw, and going back to his old antics. Marner is not a person who cares about his public image, whether it is public intoxication, or he is drugged out of his mind, he will be and always be a public joke. Maybe this is not as true as it once was, in the VHLE he was loved and hated by the public, as Marner could not stay out of trouble. Some fans wanted him to be kicked out of the league altogether, as others hated him and just wanted him to be traded, but there was still a lot of love for Marner. He ended up putting up some good points, and would still get the ovation for helping his team in Rome almost win the cup, it was not a happy ending for those fans. Brendan Marner is now getting into some problems after pushing famous singer Billie Eilish off stage at one of her concerts in Warsaw and finishing the song himself. Many fans started throwing their drinks at Brendan Marner and he responded to the displeasure by doing a screaming solo and shat right towards the crowd. The majority of this crap was spewed over a front couple of rows, and this would include some of the younger children at the concert as well as Billie Eilish herself who was still fighting to crawl back on stage. Police immediately brought Marner off stage to stop the madness, and this hockey celebrity went to jail for the night to wait for his sentencing. The next day, early in the morning Brendan Marner had to go in front of a judge to hear his sentencing, but the judge noticed him saying, “Oh my god, your Brendan Marner, I love you in Warsaw! You need to be back for the game tonight, I don’t care what you did, sign this autograph and you will be freed!” The fans of Eilish were not happy with this sentencing at all, they thought another celebrity was getting away with criminal activity that the rest of the public would not be able to fight for themselves. Brendan Marner's PR team came out with a statement telling the public that he is sorry for his actions and would take full responsibility for damages caused to the signer or any fans who may have been shat on. When this statement came out, there were a lot of mixed responses, with a lot of people saying that it didn’t seem genuine, and he should’ve done time, while others say, it was just a slip-up and he would be back to a good person that everyone wants to believe he is. However, the hockey fans were shocked when Brendan Marner came out of that night’s game saying he doesn’t remember any of that happening and said he would never apologize for something he didn’t do. Although there were countless witnesses and videos online, he still denies the actions he took that day and went so far as saying, “I bet she deserved it, and those fans need to wake up, she sucks.” Heads started turning soon after that response was made public, with many demanding he gets put in prison. Some questions came about when asked why Brendan Marner was even at the concert if he didn’t like Eilish's music, but Marner declined to respond. After this incident, the team questioned why this overpaid player was a nuisance in Warsaw and if there were any ideas to trade him. The management said, “We know, we know, we have been in touch with Brendan, and he said he would try to clean up his act. As for the trade demand by the public, well we don’t have control over that, he is signed to a 1 year no movement clause.” The people in Warsaw were pretty upset by this response, and they made it known with a few protests outside of the arena. The team seemed to be committed to fixing the situation and helping the player back on his feet, even though some fans have pointed out that Marner isn’t even a point a game but is the top-paid player on the team right now. Although there was a petition going around to get Marner off the VHL roster there is a high belief this controversial player will be on the team for the rest of the season. There will be much speculation on what Warsaw does next season as he is on a mutual second-year agreement, and there will be many protesting for his departure, but it will be hard to see this figure go from Warsaw if he helps bring this team far and to a cup. It will be one interesting year for Warsaw, and if Brendan Marner can get through this controversy, will the team be the same? There is not much scoring depth on Warsaw anyways, so there will be questions on whether or not he is the best top winger option, and if Warsaw should look for something new. They seem to have their goals straight, and their goalie playing amazing, there is a good chance Marner will be with the team unless they have another early-round exit. They are playing amazing defensive hockey, and they are one of the top teams in the league right now, so why change this team for a controversy that will probably blow over? Well, we will need to see as we keep looking into this unideal situation for Warsaw, and whether or not he goes to prison, or gets into deeper trouble. Stay tuned for more updates on this Brendan Marner saga. 2 weeks of claim 1000 words Edited July 15, 2022 by MetalToday Spartan, dlamb and Gaikoku-hito 2 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/123956-marners-at-it-again/ Share on other sites
