Marcel has now overtaken Christopher Young in games played for the Iron Eagles and also is alltime leader in shots blocked and leaves Jocke Jockesson in the dust. Calgary's struggle is a little bit more real. In a NA conference which is extremely balanced (eight points difference from the leader to the 5th seated Wranglers), Calgary just holds on to a Wildcard spot by the skin of their teeth. In such a tight infight for the post-season, a well oiled and productive power play is paramount to snatch victories in close games. This is an area where the Albertan Franchise has lots of room for improvement as their power play formation is the least effective in the league with only one in nine penalties resulting in a goal. For comparison the leader in that category Seattle scores on every fourth man advantage. GM Ricer has his work cut out for him for sure, as he also has to keep an eye on the development of the plethora of rookies and sophomores (GoodBrandSun, Dahl, Maloish, Wolanin and Gonçalves). On one side you want to give them ice time to further their progress on the other hand you do not want to overuse them and feed them to the Wolves. There is a thin red line and so far it seems to work for the youngsters. Maybe with the acquisition of veteran forward Telker for rookie Chicoine, the ailing power play will be infused with more experience and improve in efficiency. The Jansers' stats so far read as follows: Marcel: 34gp, 5g, 17a, 22pts, +3, 30 PIM, 31 hits, 61sb, 4ppg, 1 first star Daniel: 34gp, 15g, 22a, 37pts, +14, 47 PIM, 100 hits, 9sb, 6gwg, 1ppg, 54.21FO% and 5 first stars We will closely follow the career of our intrepid hockey players and keep our readers in the loop. https://vhlforum.com/topic/123608-a-tale-of-two-brothers-another-on-bites-the-dust/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/123637-a-tale-of-two-brothers-one-fifth-done/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/123675-a-tale-of-two-brothers-a-crease-oddity/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/123872-a-tale-of-two-brothers-past-the-third/ GM 118: Istanbul Red Wolves vs. Vasteras Iron Eagles (vhlportal.com) GM 120: Vasteras Iron Eagles vs. Geneva Rush (vhlportal.com) GM 124: Geneva Rush vs. Vasteras Iron Eagles (vhlportal.com) GM 129: Vasteras Iron Eagles vs. Oslo Storm (vhlportal.com) GM 133: Geneva Rush vs. Vasteras Iron Eagles (vhlportal.com) GM 213: Chicago Phoenix vs. Calgary Wranglers (vhlportal.com) GM 219: Calgary Wranglers vs. Toronto Legion (vhlportal.com) GM 228: Calgary Wranglers vs. Riga Reign (vhlportal.com) GM 236: Riga Reign vs. Calgary Wranglers (vhlportal.com) GM 245: Seattle Bears vs. Calgary Wranglers (vhlportal.com) GM 250: Calgary Wranglers vs. Toronto Legion (vhlportal.com) GM 262: Chicago Phoenix vs. Calgary Wranglers (vhlportal.com) GM 266: Calgary Wranglers vs. Seattle Bears (vhlportal.com) Spoiler @Morcar80 @Ricer13 @jacobcarson877 @youloser1337 @leandrofg @Ben @Telkster @PoignardLeclerc11 @Laflamme @ThomasSyster jacobcarson877 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/124004-a-tale-of-two-brothers-approaching-the-half-way-mark/ Share on other sites
