I think they made the change in like the mid S60’s to track what a traded player did on each team in the portal rather than lumping the two stints together, it’s good for the all-time stat pages for each team but it does mean you sometimes miss out on recognition in articles and such when you should be near top of the individual leaders but you’re not cause it tracks your stats per team rather than your total. Luckily I think the award voters usually pick up on it though and don’t miss traded players out on award votes. Also Cory Evans was a steal in the 7th round, Orbit is the GOAT VHLM goalie!
