Eagles a bust?

After much hype and being selected 1st overall, it seems like the storyline for Henry Eagles is changing. The media is slowly starting to turn on him with some even starting to bring out the dreaded B word all high draft picks hate to hear....BUST.

 

The Vancouver media is starting to call for the Wolves to keep Eagles in the pressbox or send him down to the farm as they believe he is not contributing enough to help out the playoff inspired team. Some are even saying he was the wrong pick at number one overall. We sat down and talked with Henry about how this is potentially affecting him and his thoughts on the whole situation.

R: Hi Henry, Thank you for coming in and talking with us

HE: No problem, any time!

R: So let's start with the big elephant in the room....Has the media throwing out the bust word impacted your play?
HE: No not really, I try to not read or listen to any media. The media usually write stories to get clicks and majority of what they write is not true. They can call me a bust but this is just my first year straight from one season in the farm league. Some of the rookies playing in the VHL have had one full extra season, so I am just doing what I can to help my team win. Personal stats don't worry me and I just think those media guys writing some of these busts articles are just upset that they made the mistake of picking me in their playoff pools and are losing. I'm just joking about that but kidding aside, it has not affected my play. I am still adjusting and you can expect performance to improve as the season goes on.

R: Has any of this media backlash carried over to the Wolves fans?
HE: Not at all! The fans have been great and I appreciate all their support. There is still lots of excitement for this team and I think the fans know that the second half of the season will get much better. It's a great time to be a Wolves fan and we will do everything we can to bring back the Cup to Vancouver

 

R: How has management been throughout this tough time?
HE: They have been excellent, they are giving me every opportunity to succeed and I just have to do my best to use every opportunity to show that I was a good pick at #1. They have faith in me and I have faith in them.

R: How has the locker room been?
HE: Locker room has been excellent. Our veteran players our making sure everyone keeps their head high and morale has not dropped one inch. We all believe in the team and we are all willing to put everything on the line to succeed. This locker room feels like we are undefeated. I can't wait for the next few weeks as everyone will start to see what were really made from.
