Payne GM Theme Week

First, thank you to the management for making another theme week TPE boost as I grind my way to 1000 TPE.  I would like to start by saying that the GM’s and AGMs of this league, whether it be the VHL, VHLE, or VHLM can truly determine if a new player is committed to this league, become a welfare clicker, or quit altogether out of frustration and often misunderstanding of the learning curve associated with the league. 

 

My first foray in the VHL forum came from a YouTube ad.  I logged into the forum and hovered over “Create a Player” for an hour trying to determine if this was something I wanted to try.  I am not going to lie I had some reservations that came from not really getting how this league worked.   I eventually conquered my fear and created defenseman, Brian Payne.  I was then received an email saying welcome to the league and that teams would be contacting me.  Then the flood of offers came in.  I settled on the first one I received from JB123 @JB123 and joined the San Diego Marlins.  

 

I joined the team and was CONFUSED as HELL!  Writing media spots, VHL articles, Press Conferences and then even more challenging was how do I claim them and where.  And then once I get the points what do I put them in to be good for the team???   JB123 was patient and always available to help me and answer my questions (No matter how stupid they were).  I have no doubt whatsoever that I didn’t have JB123 as my first GM, and had a less active one, I might not have remained in the league.  Based on his mentorship I feel I have stayed active and as max an earner as possible.  Plus, thanks to him I have the fun to be had in the league and made many good people. 

 

Next, I went to the VHLE after being drafted by the Bratislava Watchman.   Bratislava’s GM, Frostbeard @FrostBeard, was also very active, fun, and helpful.  A very easy-going personality and had a great AGM in Shindigs.  Shindigs @Shindigsis a student of the game when it comes to crafting a player and was super helpful in making Payne a brute in the VHLE.  I credit both of with making a fun atmosphere in the chat room and my time in the E a very enjoyable experience.  

 

Next, I joined my current team in the VHL, the Warsaw Predators.  Payne was drafted 26 overall by the Predators and I wanted to prove that Payne was better than his draft pick.  I was excited that GM Dlamb told me he was happy I fell that low and was underrated in the draft. He has always been a very helpful leader and the Predator locker room is fun and full of interesting characters. 

 

Dlamb @dlamb makes great moves in the draft, free agency, or trades and is always looking to make Warsaw better.  In my short time there we have already won a championship and are on pace to compete for another one this year. 

 

I want to sincerely thank all my GMs and AGMS in my short time here.  Please know that your effort and mentorship can make or break a new person’s time in the league.  Thank you for all the hard work and time you donate to making this such a fun experience.
