I do have to say, I was very hesitant to actually write anything here in this theme week, not because I believed I had nothing to say but more about the fact that I feel I have spoken about GMs, influence, experience and all that jazz already too much, however, in the end I thought that there is something to talk about.

I have already praised and said criticisms about both BlaideMaiden and Banackock as they have probably been my greatest influences in my GMing career. It can be incredibly tough to even make up my mind on where I would be right now without both of them, heck, I don't think I would have stayed in VHL and even if I did, I wouldn't have become a GM. However this time I am gonna be taking this road on a different path - I am gonna talk about 3 GMs. 3 completely different personalities that have remained as an integral part of my GMing journey.

Bushito, Enorama, Gustav.

Bushito, GM that drafted me and helped me understand ways of communication.
Enorama, GM that traded for me back in S70 and helped me figure out what it means to have pride for your team.
Gustav, GM that made me realise that sometimes you will just lose but even then you can not give up.

Alrighty, now let's talk about it all a bit more in depth.

Bushito, his role in my GMing career, sepcifically in helping me form an opinion on what makes a good GM was probably the most influencial early on. I had just become GM of Houston Bulls, fresh in the league, with no real experience but huge willingness to go and put in work. He always was there to help you understand that you are a part of the team, he was communicative and ready to be an unmovable boulder for anyone that played on his team. However, I do have to say that his help on communication was really more on the negative side, he showed me that keeping promises was the way to keep strong bonds and breaking promises leads to nothing but a failing future for the team.

Enorama, GM that I was firstly sceptical of playing for as I just didn't know who this person was, made me absolutely change my view on things. He made me realise that you have to put your faith into someone and let that faith blossom. That said, his greatest contribution to me was that I always saw him in DCD Locker room as the person who never gave up, a person who always had an immense pride for Dragons, who made me realise later on that with the mindset of "Your team is always the best no matter the result" you can do anything. You will never get bored of GMing and feel burned out when everything seems to be going right way.

Gustav, GM that I hoped to help with his Davos playoff push. We did good. But sometimes you just have to accept that we are not going to be doing too great. Sometimes you just have to accept the loss and not really try to find the weak link or the wrong move, or the wrong strategy. It really is about an opportunity to find a new mindset where you do not dwell on the previous but always think about the future.

All these 3 GMs have been hugely important at forging me as a GM. Each at a different time and yet each with an incredibly important lesson for me to take in. Thanks.
