Detroit Chasing 400

With two games left in the S86 season, Davos left winger Vinny Detroit @dasboot continues his quest to be included among the VHL’s greatest power forwards of all-time. The American behemoth has steadily risen up the league’s career leaders for penalty minutes and hits and recently became only the 15th player in league history to accumulate 2500 hits. He is now searching for another historical moment - to become the 20th player to collect 400 hits in a season and the fourth Davos player to accomplish the feat and first since HOFer Gabriel McAllister @CowboyinAmericaset the single-season record with 461 in S61. He currently sits at a career-high 390 and so needs 10 hits in his last two games. The last player to reach 400 hits was all-time hits leader and Malmo Nighthawks legend Druss Deathwalker two seasons ago when he put up 404 hits - his second season of 400+.

Detroit has already become only the third player in VHL history with seven consecutive seasons with 300 or more hits and in S87 will look to join Deathwalker as the only player to have crushed 300+ hits for eight straight campaigns. If he does hit 300 again, Detroit will also be the only player to reach 2800 career hits with Deathwalker. In fact, Detroit is only 378 hits away from breaking Deathwalker’s newly-set mark of 2882 career hits - and he has reached that mark the last two seasons. He’s also only 17 penalty minutes behind Deathwalker for 12th all-time. Is Deathwalker’s hits record safe? How many more records will Detroit crush along the way? Keep your head up to find out!
