Top Five - Richest Teams (Player Wealth)

Despite being overshadowed by football, there is no doubt that hockey is one of the most lucrative sports on the planet. Specifically, the Victory Hockey League, which is currently ranked as the number one hockey league on the planet in terms of revenue and player salaries. For that reason, we bring you a special edition this week! We're going to be talking about the richest franchises in the league (in terms of player wealth)! Without further adieu, let's get started!

:cal: #1 - Calgary Wranglers  :cal:

Topping the list at number one is the illustrious Calgary Wranglers! As of this writing, the Alberta franchise's players held a combined total of $92.25 Million in cold, hard cash. The biggest holders are Sami Kravinen with $16.5 Million, Godavari Yumalatopinto at $14.75 Million, and goaltender Martin Brookside with $13.75 Million. Who knows why the Wranglers players are so wealthy. As an organization, the Wranglers aren't the most lucrative franchise in the league, so I'll chock this up to frugal spending by the players.

:col: #2 Cologne Express  :col:

The Cologne Express are next up on the list, currently holding a combined total of $78.25 Million. The Express are an up and coming team who currently hold a significant number (19) of players under their realm. For that reason, there isn't really any sole big holders that contribute to this total, but merely the sheer amount of players that contribute to the total. Andrey Zadorov leads the pack with $13 Million.

:tor:#3 - Toronto Legion :tor:

Next up is the Toronto Legion, who just edge out the #4 team by a close 0.25M. Toronto's players currently hold a combined total of $58.75 Million. One player really stands out here and that is Matteo Gallo who is currently hold a $23 Million bank account. Toronto had lots of cap space to work with here and thats evident by the fact that they payed Gallo $7 Million this season.

:hel: #4 - Helsinki Titans :hel:

The Helsinki Titan's are in next at $58.5 Million, just shy of the Toronto Legion. The Titans are a competitive team with fairly high cap, and they could actually be far higher on this list if their players didn't shop so frivolously. They do have some cheap bastards, however, such as Kimmo Salo who holds $14 Million, James Faraday who controls $11.5 Million, and Jake Wylde who is holding on to $8.5 Million.

:dav:#5 - HC Davos Dynamo :dav:

Coming in at second is the famed HC Davos Dynamo, who's players currently hold a cool $52.5 Million in combined cash. Just ending a largely successful run as a competitive team, the Dynamo have now shifted into rebuild mode and had a large amount of cap space to work with, as well as a massive amount of disposable cash due to being one of the most popular teams in the league. This is evident when you look at players such as Penis Hudson who holds $9 Million, David Januzaj at $12.5 Million, and Soren Douffet who holds $10 Million.

Someone on SHL made something like this, it was called Forbes Magazine something.. Pretty cool concept here. Helsinki will go up in value once Jarome Iginla gets his taste of the SHL. 506 words is good.
