A Fascinating Duo

One of the more interesting relationships in the VHLM has to be between San Diego captain Sjin and his rookie line mate Shubham Anand, for reasons both on and off the the ice. The Marlins captin has taken the spotlight this season as he is currently tied for first in goal scored and tied for second in hits taken. This seemingly has opened up room on the ice for Anand to operate, allowing the highly underrated rookie to produce thirteen points in sixteen games. What adds to make this dynamic more noteworthy are the unusual nationalities of the individuals involved. Sjin is British with Anand being Indian, two nations that have had a very complicated relationship in the past. You might think this would result in tension between the new teammates, yet the opposite is true. With both men speaking clear British English, it has seemingly allowed the men to quickly bond and for the veteran Sjin to better mentor the rookie Anand. The two have even done an anti-racism PSA togther.  Brits and Indians are not commonly found on semiprofessional ice hockey clubs, so seeing these two working so well together is fascinating and deserves more attention.
