Hello Europe - Rip Wheeler

Welcome to Europe! Rip Wheeler: 

 

Rip Wheeler was drafted into the VHLE by the Oslo Storm! This was Rips first time to Europe and he was pretty pumped to check things out. After the flight in from Vegas and after a long day press obligations, meeting his teammates and signing his VHLE contract, he decided to explore the city's nightlife. Rip had heard that Oslo was a “city that never sleeps”, and he was eager to experience that for himself. Coming from a VHLM stint with the Las Vegas Aces, Rip loved exploring the nightlife of Vegas and he hoped Oslo would compare! His favorite past time was hitting the poker tables and crushing some bourbon whiskey! 

 

Rip and the boys started his night off by visiting a local pub called The Statesmen. The pub was known for its great selection of beers and lively atmosphere. Rip ordered a pint of the areas finest double IPA (9.5%!) and struck up a conversation with the bartender…she recognized Rip from his press conference earlier in the day. She also thought Rip was ridiculously good looking (obviously) and decided to serve up him and the boys drinks on the house! She recommended he try a local spirit called Norwegian Aquavit…Rip loves fireball, so maybe this will start to be his European version of an after game celebration shot! Aquavit is a strong spirit made from potatoes (so o guess it’s like vodka?) that actually tastes pretty damn delicious! The shots continued to flow until it started to get a little foggy for Ol’ Rip. He got a European Uber (same as an American Uber, just in Europe, lol) back to the hotel and passed out face first, fully clothed on the bed, it was one of those kinda nights. 

 

The next morning Rip woke up and began to realize that this was gonna be an amazing season. Not only was Oslo seemingly the Vegas of Europe, he was now a celebrity and living his best life.

 

He was part of a stealer rookie class and becoming part of a clearly established VHLE powerhouse club in the Oslo Storm. Rips goals for the season include trying to be a PPG guy, or “point per game guy”. Also, leading the team  hits and PIMs would be a season long goal. Also, Rip hopes get into a fight or two this season and overall provide a physical presence for the club. Rip is a “T Triple G” or Team Guy, Glue Guy and will do whatever he can to help the club stack wins and be successful!

Sadly, the blind bartender was fired for continuously giving out free drinks to anyone who walked into the bar.

Loved your take on your Hello Europe piece! Different from the other stuff I've read and like Triller said, creative and enjoyable for sure. Slater is ready to hit the town with her teammates and Rip Wheeler!
