Saskatoon Wild Press Conference - Week Ending April 14

A new week, and new questions from the media to answer!

Here are your questions for this week:

1. The trade deadline is approaching next week, what area of the roster do we need to add to, or do we need to stay the course with the current group?

2. Who has been the MVP of the season so far for our team?

3. Is it a surprise seeing the Pittsburgh Penguins get hot late in the season and move into the playoff race after spending most of the season out of it?

4. Which is more likely to win a Championship: a team who can score a ton, or a team who is stingy defensively?

5. Will you be participating in any eclipse festivities today?

6. Which is better: a total solar eclipse, or a total eclipse of the heart?

1 - "We like our Group" -> Don Wadell, and i think i can relate to him, i like our group

2 - Everyone on the team deserves their cherries, but if i had to choose, probably the goalies, some incredible stops from them.

3 - Nope, not at all! I expect Crosby and Malkin to fire themselves up to be in that position, they are expirienced, and they are still one of the few greatest players in Hockey. Expirience and leadership pays off late in the season, you can see some teams fail due to Leadership.

4 - Defence wins Championships. If you only score 1, but you can hold your opponent to barely any offensive output, it's a sucess.

5 - I'm in Germany,  so unfortunately i can't see it. I'll also be asleep i think as its pretty late in the evening for me.

6 - Difficult question haha! I think the song is bettter, but id love to see the solar eclipse!

4. Describe your perfect date.

5. What is the most important thing that a team needs to have success on a deep playoff run?

6. Why is it that the second movie in a trilogy usually ends up being the best one?

1.  I'm very impressed with it, I didn't think my player would do as well as he did this season for some reason.

2. Mainly the Lynx, at least they seem to be a very strong team this season.

3. I personally really liked watching the Bruins and Leafs go at it, high intensity and such. & it's not a complete sweep so far.

4. Hockey & chill. or just something chill, I wouldn't want it to be fancy.

5. Consistency and resilience, if a team burns out or runs out of gas at any point I feel like it might cost them.

6. First movies are usually good testing grounds, they aren't sure what the fans are going to like and what they won't so when it comes to the second movie they know what to focus on.

1. The end of the regular season is here! How do you feel about your performance this season?

Would have liked more hits and shots blocked, but being on a great team is awesome.

2. Which team do we have to keep our eye on in the playoffs?

One series at a time.

3. Which series has been the best in the NHL playoffs so far?

I’ve only watched Boston/Toronto.  Not happy with it.  Bruins need to step it up.

4. Describe your perfect date.

In a suite at the Bruins and it’s game 7 for the Stanley Cup.  Wife has her eyes on the game so she’s not bugging me.  Bruins win!!!  What could be better than that?

5. What is the most important thing that a team needs to have success on a deep playoff run?

They need to play playoff hockey.

6. Why is it that the second movie in a trilogy usually ends up being the best one?

Well,  Dumb and  Dumberer was kind of funny!!!  I dont know why tho.

A new week, and new questions from the media to answer!

Here are your questions for this week:

1. After a tough start to our series against Mississauga, we're now up 2-0 on Halifax in the Semi-Finals. What has gone right for us so far, and what do we have to continue to do to win this series?

2. Have you been as disappointed in the first round of the NHL playoffs as I have? 1 sweep, 6 series at 3-1, and 1 series at 2-1 so far doesn't scream the type of drama that I love in the playoffs.

3. How do you get out of a scoring slump when you're in one?

4. You're trapped in a locked room for a week, and can bring one movie in with you to watch. What movie are you picking?

5. This is likely the last or second last Press Conference of the season with the playoffs winding down. I always try and split my questions between team/VHL content and random personal questions, and I'd like to know which your preference is. What types of questions over this season have been your favourite?

6. As the season winds to a close, and most of you will take the next step in your careers to the VHLE or VHL next season, what has been your favourite part of playing for the Saskatoon Wild this season?

1. After a tough start to our series against Mississauga, we're now up 2-0 on Halifax in the Semi-Finals. What has gone right for us so far, and what do we have to continue to do to win this series?

We score more than Halifax!!  We seem to be on a roll, hope it continues

2. Have you been as disappointed in the first round of the NHL playoffs as I have? 1 sweep, 6 series at 3-1, and 1 series at 2-1 so far doesn't scream the type of drama that I love in the playoffs.

No, my only disappointment is that Boston is taking their time putting Toronto out, and I’m afraid they just dont have it to get past florida.  Not a playoff team….

3. How do you get out of a scoring slump when you're in one?

I stop drinking tequila and dont pick up any hookers.

4. You're trapped in a locked room for a week, and can bring one movie in with you to watch. What movie are you picking?

Bambi Goes Down for A Buck.  JK,  I’d pick a series like Sopranos or The Wire or even La Reina del Sur

5. This is likely the last or second last Press Conference of the season with the playoffs winding down. I always try and split my questions between team/VHL content and random personal questions, and I'd like to know which your preference is. What types of questions over this season have been your  favorite?

Your questions are good,  I just do it for the TPE!!

6. As the season winds to a close, and most of you will take the next step in your careers to the VHLE or VHL next season, what has been your favourite part of playing for the Saskatoon Wild this season?

Winning!!  Its a good group of players and trades were made that added a lot of depth to put us strong for a trophy.  Its nice to see the activity in the locker room and it should keep first gens interested in sticking it out.

6. As the season winds to a close, and most of you will take the next step in your careers to the VHLE or VHL next season, what has been your favourite part of playing for the Saskatoon Wild this season?

1. We just need to keep up the pressure! If we can continue to out play them every step of the way then I think we've got this.

2. I dunno where the Caps went wrong, I didn't watch all of their games but seeing a team get sweeped like that in the playoffs was a little disappointing.

3. Just keep shooting the puck at the net, look for openings, you gotta be quick with it cuz those goalies are fast but if a goalie can predict a player then the player can learn to predict what a goalies gonna do.

4. The mario movie, I'm learning peaches word for word.

5. I don't really have a preference, I don't think there ever was one that I've disliked.

6. I loved how well we did, seeing all of us do well and get points here and there was fun to see.

1. After a tough start to our series against Mississauga, we're now up 2-0 on Halifax in the Semi-Finals. What has gone right for us so far, and what do we have to continue to do to win this series?
Hehehehe i know how this ends!

2. Have you been as disappointed in the first round of the NHL playoffs as I have? 1 sweep, 6 series at 3-1, and 1 series at 2-1 so far doesn't scream the type of drama that I love in the playoffs.
Jets let me down... Waisted some betting money. But there has been some good series for sure.

3. How do you get out of a scoring slump when you're in one?

Taco bell takes the slump out of you... among other things..

4. You're trapped in a locked room for a week, and can bring one movie in with you to watch. What movie are you picking?

Easy the bee movie.

5. This is likely the last or second last Press Conference of the season with the playoffs winding down. A good mix is always nice.

Was a great group of people to manage this season! I will miss them next season for sure.

Q1: Two new players! Once we get them active in games how do you think they can help the team?

Not sure which are the two as I just joined myself, but any player that can fill up the roster and remove the strain from the leaders and give them a bit more time to rest in order to not reach the fatigue is a plus. If they themselves additionally going to perform well, that's awesome!

Q2: How is your player doing? Any improvement areas you see?

As a brand new player in the team and VHLM there is, pardon my French, shit loads to improve!

Q3: What is your players favorite restaurant? What do they usually order from there?

Oof this is a good question. I like some good Asian food and to go place would be Wok House and the order would be some noodles with kung pao chicken and some vegie rolls. Or if not that then any of the steak houses.

Q4: What is one thing you would change about the VHL/E/M and why?

Hard to say as I have not had the experience from the players perspective. Need to play a bit and see. One thing for VHLM would be the team balance as some teams are stacked and some are barely having players.

Q5: What do you think our chances of winning a second cup in a row? Why?

Well we have to outperform other teams, which right now is not the case, but we are close and playoffs are eliminations, so we definitely can do it!

Q6: Does your player have any pets? If so what are they and what are their names?

Unfortunately due to a lot of moving over the years, Drosmis does not have any pets as it would be a burden to him and the pet as well.

Saskatoon Wild Press Conference:

1. Consistency is key in this league, and all we can do it focus on the game and give our 110%.

2. Nope, not superstitious at all so can't catch me on this one!

3. Parents love hockey even if it's not the most popular one in France. They believe it's the hardest sport to play and the most fun to watch.

4. Definitely not my player haha! We have some great goal scorer so anyone up front can be it.

5. I have a little preference for Davos since my first player played there, but I'm open to play anywhere.

6. With the last 3 games, no choice but to pick Edmonton to win the Cup.

Q1: The team seems to have many good days and a few bad days, what do you think we can do to improve consistency?

- Looking at the results I would say we are quite consistent, but we are not perfect, because while we are professionals, we are also humans that makes mistakes and sometimes these mistakes cost us some loosing games.

Q2: Does your player have any superstitions or rituals for the games? If so what?

- No, my player doesn't have no superstitions he believes in or any rituals he does before games, but I bet he might pick some up from others with time.

Q3: How did your player get into hockey?

- His father took him to his very first hockey game when he was four years old and he just fell in love with it and been playing hockey since.

Q4: If you had to pick an MVP for the season right now, who would you choose?

- To be honest it is a hard question, considering I joined the league half way and haven't played that many games to recognise an MVP.

Q5: What VHL team are you hopeful you get drafted too if/when you move up to the VHL?

- Im a humble person, so I will be happy for any of the teams. Riga Reign would probably be the best location wise as Riga is my hometown.

Q6: the NHL Stanley Cup just went to game seven, who do you think is going to win the series and with it, the cup?

Late on this, already know the answer that Panthers picked the first Stanley Cup ever and a fellow Latvian is part of the team! Lets gooo!!!

Q1: Postseason just around the corner! How do you think Saskatoon is going to rank up against other teams? Do you think they can defend their title?

Q2: Intense Game 7 in the Stanley Cup! What are your thoughts on the game?

Q3: If you had to pick a different position to play, what would it be and why?

Q4: Mexico City is really dominating the leauge this season! How do you think saskatoon can overcome that?

Q5: Do you have any questions or suggestions for me as an AGM?
