In a surprise move, Dick's Sporting Goods has announced that they are purchasing upstart competitor GoGear for twenty five million dollars. GoGear, the brainchild of Shubham Anand, current captain of the new look Vasteras Iron Eagles, has been very successful. In a few months, the upstart went from one location to location all over North America with rumored plans to go global. What this means for GoGear users is that the app will be rebranded as the new Dick's Sporting Goods' app. This includes being available in more locations, many more items to purchase like custom uniforms and custom golf clubs, more flexibility of use like in store pick-up and other changes. Reportedly Shubham Anand will be joining Dick's Sporting Goods' upper management to continue to oversee the app he has created. So now the young Indian hockey player is now an American executive and a rich one at that.
