Doomsday 4,143
The End Nears For Landry CALGARY - Towards the end of Season 32, a prospect that few took notice of joined the Victory Hockey League and was claimed by the Oslo Storm en route to a Founder's Cup Victory. It would be the first taste of success for Landry, although he would best be known for his tenure on the HC Davos Dynamo. The longest-serving captain in the team's history, he was a part of two Continental Cup champion teams, playing in four finals. But now with the Calgary Wranglers, the aging Landry has just 20 more regular season games to play in his career. "It really hit me hard when I saw how many games were left," said Landry following Calgary's 2-0 victory over the Vasteras Iron Eagles. "I can remember the day I joined the VHL and I just couldn't wait to finally make it to the big leagues and make a name for myself. Now I'm wishing that it wasn't about to come to an end." In his last season, Landry is providing a physical presence for the Wranglers. He ranks second in the VHL in hits and penalty minutes, somehow drawing the ire of officials more than even Edwin Encarnacion. The Wranglers will be definite underdogs as they head towards the playoffs, but perhaps there's no better way for a perennial underdog to end his career.
