All eyes were on Seattle Tacoma Airport on Sunday as star forward and the new captain of the Seattle Bears, Yaroslav Bogatyrev, arrived after a grueling flight back from the Urals region of Russia. According to sources, Bogatyrev first flew from Ekaterinburg to Dubai, before flying to Seattle via Los Angeles.

Bogatyrev spent the bulk of the offseason under the tutelage of his father, undergoing a rigorous training regimen to get him into what he said was “the best shape of my career”.

Bogatyrev was named the new captain of the Seattle Bears last week, and the Nizhnii Tagil native is set to go into his fifth season after setting career highs in all major stats.

“Season five, let’s go,” Bogatyrev wrote in a post on Instagram.

According to chatter on social media, many Bears fans have expressed concern over the Bears’ decision to name Bogatyrev as new captain, given his contract uncertainty.

“Why the hell is a bum like Boga being named captain. We have so many other guys like Randy Bobandy who actually show up in important games,” one Twitter user wrote.

“Big Boga’s Bears? More like Big Boga’s Bullshit. Can’t wait until we get rid of this douchebag,” another wrote.
