G.W. Wick 9
The Juice Is Loose: Saskatoon Wild Sign Unknown Sasky! By: Leonard Blue Date: February 6, 2024 The General Manager of the Saskatoon Wild, @Ricer13, announced to media today that the team has signed RW John J. Juice to a 1-year $1,500,000 entry-level contract. John J. Juice is widely described as an unknown entity. Speaking to media on the condition of anonymity, a league insider said that he didn’t know any scout worth their « salt » who had Juice on their scouting list. What is known about John J. Juice is that he is a 20-year-old, 6-foot, 205 pounds, RW, hailing from Regina, Saskatchewan. Juice’s agent, @G.W. Wick said his client is « extremely motivated » by his opportunity with the Saskatoon Wild. News of Juice’s signing came only hours after Saskatoon traded its star RW, Annie Oaks @Noodle Enjoyer, to Las Vegas for the Ace’s S93 2nd and 3rd draft picks and D Masa Akimoto. Juice learned that he would be heading to the Paris of the Prairies while waiting in line for a Costco hot dog and a slice of pizza. When contacted for comment, Juice said of his signing, « I’m just stoked to be playing. Going to take it one day at a time ». When asked how he planned to catch up to drafted rookies who have 100+ games on him, Juice said, « I am going to outwork them ». When asked his favourite way to score, Juice didn’t hesitate to say, « Bar down glove slide ». From early reports, John J. Juice appears to be shaping into a goal-scoring winger, with most of his attributes being offense-focused. However, the hope is that he rounds out the other side of the game while continuing to hone his offensive abilities. The Saskatoon Wild understands the limitations of a 1-year contract. However, the team hopes Juice shows strong development in the second half of the season, as it will help the team make decisions for the S93 draft. While Juice has a mean streak on the ice, he is lighthearted and easygoing when off. When asked what he thought of Saskatoon and how he planned to spend all that money there, Juice said, «It's great here. Haven’t met anyone who hates me just for being from Regina yet. First, I will eat at Fuddruckers and then hit some dingers at the batting cages.» John J. Juice is set to play his first game in the VHLM against the Halifax 21st on February 6, 2024. Where General Manager @Ricer13 will place John J. Juice in the lineup is unknown. The Wild are hoping to break a 4-game losing streak. With a win, the Wild can put a game between them and the Halifax 21st, who are also trying to get off a losing streak. Let’s wait and see if John J. Juice has, in fact, been let loose on the VHLM or if this is just another flash-in-the-pan waiver signing. Edited February 6 by G.W.
