Admin Victor 10,938 Posted May 27 Admin Share Posted May 27 I've updated the VHL single-season records spreadsheets for S93, woo! No one set any records in S93, boo... But then we generally need some freakshow seasons for that to happen. The last big contributors to single-season records was the super-polarised league of the 50s, the madness that was S62, and the peak meta era of S80-S82. Incidentally, S82 is the date of the last record being set, creed's outrageous 460 blocked shots for a D.C. team being peppered by 99 scoring robots. But we've had some additions to the top 25 lists in S93: Womp Womp Womp Womp Womp Jr's @AdamEss 292 PIM are the joint ninth-most in a single VHL season, and the highest total since S66. Maybe not the most desirable record but one that feels like it should fall at some point as is less dependent on league parity of scoring levels. I don't really know why Da'Brickashaw O'Neal has held a stranglehold on this since S13 and why 300 PIM seems to be such a difficult mark to reach. Lower on the same list, Fradin McGryer @Fradin99 and Alfred Champagne @Anthique join Jacob Smith in 22nd place with 266 PIM, a worthy effort from those two. The Mediocre One @RElblein grabs 20th place in shots blocked with 262, nearly 200 less than the aforementioned creed, and not hugely surprising given the train wreck that was LA last season. LA ended with the joint-third most losses ever with 67 and eighth-least points with 14. And finally, for a more impressive one, Lachlan Summers' @kirbithan MVP season featured a .935 save percentage. Even one season earlier, this would have been less noticeable, but cracking the top 25 all time even after goalies stats were nuked by design is a notable achievement for the future Hall of Famer.
