Head Moderator frescoelmo 1,276 Posted July 21 Head Moderator Share Posted July 21 (edited) Frescoelmo Agency Updates: Volume 95 Happy Birthday VHL! It is amazing to see the Victory Hockey League, now seventeen years of age, continue to carry the torch as the patriarch of the simulation league community. Many leagues have come and gone, regardless of sport, yet the VHL continues to adapt and drive further continuity and strength. Seventeen years ago, there were likely a handful of members who were not even old enough to attend school! As we will likely approach the hundredth simulation season in the next two years (100 seasons!!) it is a good time to look back at how we got here, through both expansion and contraction, player project two, multiple forum websites, the advent of discord integration, and the welfare/pension player programs. Here’s to another seventeen years and ninety-five seasons. Upgrade Complete Because who doesn’t like a tell-all, well you will have to wait a little bit longer. Needless to say, it caught all of the moderating team by surprise when Mr. Fong @Baozi, seemingly out of the blue, had brought to our attention that he was considering stepping down as the head moderator. As a member I’ve personally known for the better part of a decade, it was not something even remotely on my radar. I think he has started to go camping more, to be honest. Either way, the transition over the last week has been seamless and at this point, no major changes (hate to break it to you) are in the pipeline. Same old boring moderation team that everyone loves. Get That Money What a week for the frescoelmo agency, as their current player, Forum Content, re-signed with the HC Davos Dynamo for another five seasons! The former sixth overall pick in the Season 93 VHL Draft, Content’s first season donning the purple and black was successful by many measures, with 54 points over 72 games. Certainly not lacking areas to improve, Forum will be focusing on rounding out his game (-39 plus/minus, only 72 hits) going into his prime years as a member of the Dynamo. He most certainly will not have to worry about anything contractually for the next handful of seasons. Content looks forward to combining his talents with other rising star players on the roster, including Bucatini @CowboyinAmerica, Hardy @JCarson and Kaskiniemi-Kekkonen @Snussu. Revisiting The Habitual Greed Of Job Security It bears repeating, if none other than annoying the one-percenters who have multiple jobs. In the past twenty-four hours, we have had a new VSN editor-in-chief hired @Pifferfish, a new VHL general manager in London announced @Baby Boomer, and the equivalent role provided in the VHLE for two teams as well @Nathan_8 @PacifistKit17. Turnover provides the opportunity to bring different perspectives and clarity to positions that might have become mundane or resilient to change over the years. As a member who believes that members should only hold one position (@Ricer13), these changes over the past day have been a breath of fresh air, since all of the replacements look like they will only hold that single position. For those who were promoted (leaving their old post) or stepped down, thank you for your time and contribution to a cause that is entirely volunteer-based.
