Axe The Cap

Hello chatroom. I believe it is time to admit that our COVID growth is over and the league is dying. One symptom I believe that is causing this is the massive overinflated salary cap, currently set at 45 million dollars. I believe this is allowing the top ~6 teams to hoard their top players, essentially making it so they never have to rebuild because they are always getting the top free agents and cycling through players. The bottom teams have a combined 131 MILLION DOLLARS in cap space, while the rest of the league has a combined $500k. If we drop the salary cap to 38-40 million dollars, the top GMs are forced to actually take a risk and get rid one of their top players and pick up a lower earner. This will also help the league's parity, as the shit GMs will have to pick up a few players instead of running 3 forwards, trading their top prospects to Moscow, and maybe even pick up a few wins along the way!

Honestly, I would agree to drop it down to 42 for 2 seasons and then back to 40

I got a shoutout, I'm proud. But yes we'll likely look at the cap for S98, S97 is a bit too soon for any changes.
