I am very concerned with the league's direction. This isn't a rant, just an observation from a member that has seen what the league used to be and where we are headed now. I have zero answers to why the decline in active players, nor do I blame anyone that runs the show for any changes that may have happened. I am just worried that there won't be much of an active league when or if I recreate for season 100.

What happened to us? Why are we playing against teams with hardly any players and thinking we are doing good as a player when we score against that level of competition. That really is just the byproduct of whatever the main reason/reasons players are becoming inactive or just up and leaving.

Is there anything we can do the “Make Vhl Great Again”?

I just can't see a future that is hopeful if something doesn't change. It has been going downhill season after season. I would love to be able to go back to the per-pandemic era and fight for every point and work hard to compete for a spot on a roster.

Better communications from the top on their thoughts or plans might help ease the worry. I really don't know much about anything other than what I can see and feel in the league.

Let's do something, even if it's wrong.

While most are quick to jump to the issues with recruitment numbers and 1st gen intake/retention, we are at the mercy of the sim engine.  Sim testers can only play with and tweak so much within the confines of the version that we have become (forcibly) complacent with.  Another hurdle is record preservation and a degree of historical stability, any drastic changes could compromise statistics remaining meaningful.

Plus it seems now many members are holding off for that ever so juicy S100 draft class.

I long ago said we should have split the record books; at the very least to pre and post-portal if not more. Having records dating back to S1 is cool but it means we're kinda locked into what "normal" or "exceptional" mean.
