The color palette that you ended up choosing for this meshes really well and looks very visually appealing. The font you chose (and the choice to use the outline for the first name) are very good composition choice and again, it meshes super well with the rest of the graphic. I only have one gripe with this if you can call it that. It's that there's not really a reference to what team they play for! The next logical step would be to edit the render before putting the effects on to include the team logo or maybe replacing the NHL with the VHL logo.
