K cool I'll take one of the claims for this week then. 3 hours of streaming and poking GMs? Heck yeah I'll take another week off writing.

Just wanted to thank you all for a highly enjoyable stream! 👏

And how about that three hour marathon?! 180 minutes later and the hosts are still fresh! All-pro form right there!!

Great format, insightful comments and a terrific cast, you all did an awesome job!

Thank you kindly for taking the time to make the draft fun, especially for all the first gens! Cheers!! 🍻

Draft stream was mid af.

People yapping about their careers and what they did 30+ seasons ago while being 10+ draft picks behind the portal refresh.  You guys realize people are getting drafted for the first time in their VHL careers and don't care about how you played for X team 20 seasons ago and did whatever random shit you're yapping about.  They want some type of analysis on their player, or at the very least, some acknowledgement that they've been drafted.

Do better.

Analysis was given on the picks, as well as acknowledgement that they were drafted.

I understand that the draft was over 3 hours in duration, so you might not have caught when we were actively doing analysis, but only so much can be said about a pick while the folks in the call and the chat waited for the next one, so tangents and rambles are to be expected. This was also a twitch stream for a sim league, not NHL Tonight, so I'm not entirely sure why you're so uptight about the quality of the stream when you're the only dissenting voice I've heard regarding the stream.

We'll make sure to be mindless drones for the next draft to appease your concerns however. Pure analysis only, even if it means 10 minutes of silence between picks 👍

Go read the twitch chat on the vod? Plenty of DiSsEnTiNg VoIcEs in there. Main character syndrome head ass.

I don’t think you know what main character syndrome is if that’s how you use it in a sentence. The call is coming from inside the house.

The fact you're trying to argue that I'm somehow wrong and trying to gaslight me, instead of accepting legitimate criticism, confirms that you think you're a main character.

You literally invited yourself into the stream to do an "interview" after getting drafted 13th overall, which is insane in and of itself, and then stayed in there for 2 hours yapping about unrelated shit. That is unhinged af. If you want to yap about yourself for 2 hours, go do a podcast. VHLM draft stream is not the place to do it.

I personally think that getting mclovin on the stream made it better. Up until that point, it was Gus, Smyls, and Sadie doing the talking and they all had other things to do with the draft going on at the same time. Mclovin brought an excitement to the stream and was someone that was able to talk freely without having to balance other things.

While I do understand that tangents happened and some player might have been missed in terms of analysis, every single player was spotlighted on screen. Keep in mind that it was also three hours long too. At some point it would have gotten really boring if all anyone was talking about was each individual pick and that’s it.

In the end I get your point, but it’s not that serious. Let the people talk. If all you wanted to see is when your name came up, just watch the draft board as it updates.

I didn’t hear that FM2 was the best pick of the draft. Terrible analysis in my unbiased, humble opinion

It’s a sim league draft stream; it’s not that deep. Your feedback has evidently been noticed and it really is okay to withdraw from a conversation when the alternative is arguing immaturely over a single stream for a league you’ve expressly stated you want to leave as soon as possible.

I'll be honest - overall it was an enjoyable listen but I think there's a smidge of truth in what @gorlab is saying. I only turned on the stream around the middle of the 3rd round and caught bits and pieces of it until the 5th round or so but at times it did feel like a group of people talking about the VHL and then "OK, we have to talk about the draft, here are the picks."

I understand that the draft is long and there's going to be conversation gaps or things needed to fill the air (and there's only so many ways you can say "yeah we had a good interview", which is what those later round picks usually come down to), but if there's a spectrum and one end is "only talked about the draft" and the other is "only talked about the VHL", it feels like it was just too slightly towards "talked about the VHL", at least for the parts I listened to.

Is there a reason that picks weren't announced as they happened, or shortly after? I admit I don't know how the draft actually functions in the portal but even if it was something like: pick is made -> pick is announced/discussed -> banter -> pick is made -> pick is announced/discussed it would feel like the draft is more of the focus.

Keep this same energy for your fellow moderator who took it upon themselves to immaturely argue.  Thanks.

I do think that @gorlabis somewhat right though. As a player in that class watching the stream, I think that I was super excited to get drafted and hear the analysts talk about my players. Then it got to pick 25 or 26 when I was drafted and there just wasn't really anything talked about for the next 15 minutes until someone was like "oh we haven't  talked about the entire 3rd round (since like pick 19). Then they slowly just went through each pick saying something quick and moving on. It kind of just made it feel like an afterthought.

I think that banter certainly has a place (and livens the stream!) but I do think going forward a little more focus should be placed on the players, especially when there's a few GMs and a commissioner on the stream who know the players and are drafting.

This is not to discredit the hosts, it's absolutely a hard job and everyone does appreciate it. I think its just a suggestion to focus on going forwards that could maybe improve the stream even more, because the graphics and the analysis that did happen was excellent (like Gustav talking about Mike's player for example).

This is a much better analysis of the stream in my opinion. You’re basically saying the same thing as gorlab in a much more productive way. Constructive criticism is way more effective than just complaining, so I appreciate it.

As the person running the stream, I can take more of a moderator role and make sure things stay on track next time. I like the banter but there’s a balance that was off this time around. Everyone did their best, and let’s all remember that we are also human and aren’t perfect but we can do better next time.

As a side note, if you want a draft stream that looks nice and also has great commentary, maybe just saying “do better” isn’t the best way to go about it. That’s more likely to discourage people from being in there at all, until you’re left watching the portal update until your name comes up.
