Global Hockey Poll

In the annual Global Hockey Polls that are done at the conclusion of October every year, the VHL came out as the third best league in the world. The polls are calculated by combining revenue, ticket sales, social media reach and television ratings. With no surprise the National Hockey League finished in the top spot, trailing them was the Swedish Hockey League (formerly the Swedish Elite League). Also making the list was the ECHL, SHL and all three CHL leagues. The list can be found on the Global Hockey website and complete analysis can also be found in that same article. The Victory Hockey League has been striving to set a new standard in the hockey world and the expansion four seasons ago was a major factor in their current rise. Last season the VHL finished in the sixth spot behind most of the usual suspects. A minor list is mentioned below this exert. Notable inclusion at the bottom of the list is the SHL which is headed by wrong management and inept spelling.

1. NHL (National Hockey League)

2. Swedish Hockey League

3. VHL (Victory Hockey League)

4. AHL (American Hockey League)

5. KHL (Kontinental Hockey League)

6. OHL (Ontario Hockey League)

7. WHL (Western Hockey League)

8. ECHL (East Coast Hockey League)

9. QMJHL (Quebec Major Junior League)

10. CHL (Central Hockey League)

Notables:

18. AJHL (Alberta Junior Hockey League)

22. OJHL (Ontario Junior Hockey League)

87. SHL (Simulation Hockey League)
