On That Note...

With Niklaus Mikaelson's recent announcement about the possibility of testing free agency, this off-season could be just as exciting as last with players from the Season 40 draft class eligible to become unrestricted free agents. One of the biggest stories is Toronto Legion defenseman Jerrick Poole. He has proven to be worthy of his draft position in such a talent-filled draft but while teammates and fellow first round selections Tyler Cote and Sachimo Zoidberg have inked extensions with the Legion, Poole has remain noncommittal despite reportedly engaging in talks with Legion management on multiple occasions.

Only in his third season, Poole has established himself as one of the league's best defensemen and certainly the type of player a team can build around. He has averaged a point per game over his career all while playing a sound, physical, defensive game. His testing free agency would be devastating to the Legion, who just this off-season lost Devin Sundberg, and very well could force the team into another rebuild. But as Poole has maintained again and again, his mind is far from set and an announcement will not come until the conclusion of Toronto's season.
