Souryuu Kaminogi is a Japanese born winger who after achieving his personal goal of revenge and after a failed career in law decided to pursue his dream of hockey. He was recently picked by the Lynx at 21^st overall. So far 62 games into the season, Kaminogi has had a less than average season with only 39 points. Recently however Kaminogi and the Lynx have picked up their play as they look to finish the season strong while heading into the playoffs.

 

 

Strengths

 

Scoring: Kaminogi is well known for his shot and his ability to put the puck in the net, as shown with 21 of his 39 points being goals.  Although he may not have the most powerful shot, he has an extremely quick release along with a high accuracy.

 

Puck Handling: Kaminogi also has very quick hands that make him extremely hard to deal with and check. He often lights people up and leaves them wondering where he went. This along with his scoring abilities make him a very scary offensive threat.

 

Skating: Speed and Skating is perhaps one of the most important attributes in hockey. Fortunately for Kaminogi this is once he particularly excels at. He has a very smooth and quick stride and his ability to race past and catch up to people often catches people off guard. As a result Kaminogi must always be kept track of when he’s on the ice as he could be anywhere at any time.

 

Passing: Although Kaminogi is not nearly as skilled at passing compared to the rest of his offensive abilities, he can still be quite good at times compared to his peers. His ability to sometimes make long perfectly accurate stretch passes along with all these other offensive abilities is what makes Kaminogi a true offensive juggernaut.

 

Weaknesses

 

Discipline: Discipline is one of Kaminogi’s main problems in a variety of ways. One of these ways is his tendency to often take dumb penalties even in crucial moments that could be easily avoided. The other way in which discipline is one of his main problems is his lack of dedication and consistency when it comes to training and improving as a player. Often Kaminogi just slacks off or is lazy and seems to have no desire to further develop as a player.

 

Checking/Defense: While Kaminogi is extremely skilled offensively, his main weakness comes in the defensive aspect of the game. His defensive awareness and positioning is not that bad, however when it comes to his ability to check, play the body and get the puck off his opponent, he is very weak.

 

Strength: One of the main reasons for his defensive lapses and weaknesses, is his overall lack of strength and weakness which leads to him to not be able to hit, knock over and retrieve the puck from many people. As a result this also translates into his skill and ability when it comes to fighting which you rarely see Kaminogi do.

 

Summary

Overall Kaminogi has a small build which results in him being a very quick, agile forward with many offensive abilities and upsides. However defensively he is quite weak and he will have the shore up and improve this part of his game and continue to develop in general if he wants to find success in the VHL.
