Kendrick 4,741
Well hello all you readers, draftees and various levels of VHL franchise positions. Welcome back to another VHL Entry Draft Rankings article and analysis. Last week we were able to have some fun by writing up a mock draft for the actual draft that comes in the off-season. However sadly we ran out of room and that is where this week comes in to save last week. We don't often see ourselves with a second round mock, but today we get the added bonus of diving into the depth spots. Before we do though you want to check out our weekly roundup of this weeks prospects. This week created more storylines than the last, although it seems like we always say that. Bronson Faux, remember that guy who was slipping fast? Well he stepped it up big time this week and rose to the number three position on our rankings. Josh Merica also rose two spots and could see himself even further in a couple weeks. Grady Simons made some noise at the end of the rankings as he moved into the top twenty. Francis York Morgan can't seen to buy a break, he did well this week and still fell two spots out of the lottery selections. That is our weekly roundup and next rankings you see from us may have draft atmosphere surrounding it even more. 11th Overall After their selections in the first round the Stockholm will look to kick the second round off by selecting a very quality player. Souryuu might be one of the most underrated prospects in this draft. At the eleventh spot, this is great value for the Vikings who will look to stock up their prospect pool. Kaminogi provides depth on the wing that can be valued by his speed and tenacity. 12th Overall Calgary has the most selections in the second round and they will want to use them wisely. Selecting MC Hammer would be a steal considering he is one of the few prospects outside the lottery who has progressed each week consistently. Hammer is a smooth skating defensemen with the dependability of an adult diaper. MC will need to focus on his hockey skills and less about his off-ice beat boxing and mix-tapes. 13th Overall Cologne is pencilled in at the thirteenth spot, which is somewhat strange considering they never have draft selections anymore. GM Ryan Power would be wise to select Theo Matsikas here as he would compliment the team later on when Ron World Peace goes into retirement eventually. Matsikas has a game that won't jump out at you but he is one of a few prospects that are very sure handed. Scouts say his agility is what allows him to be in the best position at all times. 14th Overall Seattle gets their first selection since the fourth spot and their first in the second round. The young Bears should decide to go with a possible diamond in the rough with Casper Solomon. Casper has come on strong as of late, which is good to see as he was one of the last players to declare for the draft. Solomon is a tall lanky forward that may need to fill his body more at the professional level. Another season in the VHLM will polish this gem for the VHL level of play. 15th Overall Stockholm gets their second selection in the second round and select another solid second round gem. Herman has really turned on the jets in the past few weeks and has turned in another impressive performance in the weight room. Herman is a huge bulky defensemen with great movement and quick feet. Moscow has been drooling over the fact they selected this guy in the VHLM Dispersal draft. 16th Overall Calgary is up again and at this point they are simply selectioning the best player available. Chuck Goody has promise but will need some grooming and may a letter/meeting with his agent would duo. Goody is a big defensemen with a mean streak, which probably comes from his thick Boston roots. Goody is a tough physical stay at home defensemen who never shies away from a hit. Calgary will need size and strength down the road with a young core. 17th Overall We never know what Toronto will do in the draft (or if they will show up) but they have some prospects in their system we can't forget. None of those prospects happen to be goaltenders that look promising down the stretch. We figure they may select Roland Rengel here in hopes that someday he could eventually fill the shoes of the unforgetable Remy LeBeau. 18th Overall Helsinki is up again in the draft and that allows them to see where their scouting has left them. The consensus pick in this spot would be Franklin Romanowski who seems like the third tier of draftees before it really stops off in talent. Romanowski is a big boy at 6'8" 250 pounds, but that does poise problems. Franklin's skating isn't the greatest and his size can be somewhat misleading. Romanowski does take up space though and is a quality shot blocking because of that. 19th Overall Riga might be better off trading this pick, but for the sake of our glorious article we have them taking Kewl Runnins. Runnins has been a bit of a no-show for the better part of this VHLM season. The weight room has been empty because he is nowhere to be found during his slotted time with the trainers. His tall lanky build is something those trainers can work with, his attendance isn't something they can assist with though. 20th Overall The twentieth selection is hard to narrow down but because of his constant consistency at this spot all year we put Ryan Carlson in this slot. Carlson is a big forward who plays for the Saskatoon Wild. His attendance much like the aforementioned Kewl Runnins, is spotty at best. Carlson does have a build that scouts drool over though. Calgary just looks to get as much value as they can here. Well there you have it folks! The next time you will hear from us we look to be just days away from the VHL's 43rd Entry Draft. Of course in that time we will see a ton of movement and more storylines unfold. Also make sure to tune into next rankings episode when we do a brief glimpse into the prospects who are eligible for next years entry draft. To all the draftees make sure to pop by the S42 VHLM Achievement Tracker to be eligible for a bonus at the end of the year! That's all from us at VHLSC this week, enjoy the week and go earn some TPE! Christmas 138
Playoff update screwed me on this one. Should still be ahead of Escabar in TPE but typically the articles don't get done till the end of the week. eaglesfan036 4,603
If Hammer fell all the way to 12 that would be quite a steal Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/18903-vhlsc-s43-rankings-9-second-round-mock/#findComment-200387 Share on other sites

Kendrick 4,741
Playoff update screwed me on this one. Should still be ahead of Escabar in TPE but typically the articles don't get done till the end of the week. Technically they happen every Monday usually. This one wasn't because I was going to be away and didn't want people to starve. It's only one week, you'll still be fighting for the top this next ranking!
