helsinki blowup scatters titans across north america

Recommended Posts

there was a lull in action for a few days after stockholm made a splash in acquiring brick wahl, tom slaughter, and jody 3 moons, but that was merely a calm before the storm. dispatching jake wylde and patrick demko to the meute, james faraday to the bears, and jackson miller to the legion, helsinki acquired six first round picks and some other spare parts. the moves by helsinki balance out the vhl a bit, where prior to the trades there was a massive consolidation of talent in the european conference.

the three teams that acquired parts of helsinki are all but guaranteed to make the playoffs. meanwhile, the helsinki exodus destroys any chance at a four-team playoff race over in north america. stockholm, cologne, and davos are slated to make the post-season. colongne is looking to repeat as champions, while the vhl's greatest franchise, davos, wants to return to glory.

the vikings hope to revitalize a franchise that has seen very little success. since the move to stockholm, there has been a more positive vibe with the team. the ideal outcome would be a complete turnaround for the franchise, similar to what began in new york almost 20 seasons ago. new york had great management in advantage, and so far boubabi is displaying signs of being a gm who has potential to do similar things. it is unlikely that he replicates success that new york has seen, but the bar is set low with this franchise.
