Guest
Raymond talking to media In the world of hockey it becomes increasingly more difficult to compete the older you get. Some players are naturals at it while others fall short of their potential. For left wing turned defenseman, Christopher Raymond, this happens to be the case. He came into the Victory Hockey League at the age of twenty-one and entered the S38 draft with lots of excitement surrounding him. He was one of the few players to arrive from the Simulation Hockey League. He was seen early on as a great depth prospect and would soon call the Helsinki Titans home. Now at the age of twenty-five, many Victory Hockey League scouts don't think Raymond will get much better — though he is still a valuable piece to have on any team and franchise. After watching Chris Raymond for a few weeks many would call him “distant” for the franchise and some would say he was just “going through the motions." When we caught up to the depth defenseman he did not have much to say to us. “You know I just have a lot on my mind right now. I've got a few options to think about and I need to worry about playing. Don't judge how I play until you've laced up a pair of skates and done what we have to do.” The young man was clearly annoyed and frustrated at this current point in his career. Raymond currently sits with nine points. It Is still a long season but we are projecting around thirty, which is a significant drop compared to his previous seasons. Raymond during a Cologne practice Raymond's play has declined, and many are saying he will play out the remainder of his contract and then hang up the skates. We got a hold of him to see if those rumors are in fact true, “Yes this off-season I will be announcing my retirement. This decision does not reflect on the Cologne Express organization in any way, I just feel it is my time to hang it up and make room on the roster for younger and more hungry players. I want to thank Cologne for everything they have done and here is hoping I can retire as a two-time champ.” There you have it everyone, Chris Raymond will announce his retirement from the Victory Hockey League and the Cologne Express franchise later this year. The Kachur Player Agency has produced two decent depth players, now he hopes that he can find that all-star and bring him on to team Kachur for a bright and long future. Only time will tell if this is the right move for Raymond and his agent, Alex Kachur, who is also a former player. Only time will tell.
