Bismarck Koenig is far and away the top player out of this draft, at least with the small number of seasons that these players have had in the VHL. Bismarck was a member of the VHLM finalist Yukon Rush before heading into the big leagues. He was drafted 1st overall to HC Davos Dynamo, and he made his mark on that team with 57 points in his rookie season. He scored 31 goals and added 85 hits. His Dynamo team missed out on the post-season by a mere 5 points in Season 42. In that off-season, he was traded over to the Cologne Express, where he plays currently. In Season 43, he improved massively, putting up a clinic of 50 goals and 50 assists, for 100 points. In those playoffs, Koenig and the Express lost in the Finals to Seattle, but he did take home some personal awards. Bismarck won the Mikka Virkkunen and Dustin Funk trophies for being the Most Improved and Most Sportsmanlike player in the VHL. He is a young stud, indeed. In Season 44, to go along with his first couple of seasons, his point total rose even higher. He went on to score 54 goals and 63 assists, for 117 points, which is second only to his teammate Thomas O'Malley. Currently, the Cologne Express are set to face off against the Stockholm Vikings in the playoffs.

Blake Campbell - 8th Overall

This goaltender was a Founder's Cup winner in Season 42, coming into the VHL with a VHLM record of 62-8-2 along with a .910SV% and a 2.12GAA. A great resume for a man heading to the VHL. His rookie season was only a season ago, in Season 43. he came into the league in Stockholm, playing in a back-up role to veteran Brick Wahl. Blake played 23 games and looked just like a starter, being credited with a record of 19-1-1. He had impressive numbers as well, with a .930 save percentage and a 1.40 goals against average. The Vikings ran with goaltender Brick Wahl that post-season, and they did not go on to win the Continental Cup. This past season, Blake could be argued as the best in the VHL. He went 44-15-5 with a .917 save percentage and a 1.93 goals against average. Currently in the Season 44 playoffs, Campbell has the best numbers with a .933 save percentage and a 1.91 goals against average to boot. They just recently eliminated the HC Davos Dynamo in 7 games and are one of the favourites to win it all.

Going forward, it will be interesting to watch the clash between these 2 players in the next round. The Stockholm Vikings and Cologne Express are set to face-off in the 2nd Round, and only one will come out of it. Blake Campbell's ability to stop Bismarck Koenig will likely be a major factor in this series.

Content: 3/3 This was pretty interesting. Koenig has been nothing short of sensational. Campbell has slowly started to come along and it's good competition with him.
