The Wild celebrating after their final regular season game

The Saskatoon franchise has not won the Founders Cup since season 28. This season the Wild were looking to change that as they were set up to compete this season. The Wild were certainly on their way to this goal after the regular season winning the Prime Minister’s Cup with a 63-6-3 record. With the likes of Marcel Faux, Max Molholt, Biggu Kyanon and MC Hammer leading the way in the regular season the Wild looked like a dominant team heading into the play-offs. The goaltender, Ariel Weinstein was a bit up and down throughout the season but was still a great performer for the Wild. Their first place finish in the North American Conference allowed them to stay home for the first round as they had a bye. Which is some cases is good but it can also be bad.

As the first round ended, the Yukon Rush prevailed over the Brampton Blades in a tough series where Brampton pushed the Rush to the limit. The second round in the North American Conference was going to be a battle between the two top teams, Yukon and Saskatoon.

The semi-finals in the North American Conference looked to be a doozy as both teams battled it out in the season with some great games. Game one was a 4-1 win in favor of the Saskatoon Wild. The same goes for games two and three as the Wild won 3-1 in both games. Game four was the series clincher. A nail bitter that went down to the wire in overtime. Late into the first overtime period Sean Blacker potted the series and overtime winner at the 15 minute mark to send the Wild to the Founder’s Cup Final in a sweep!

In the other conference first place Oslo Storm had a difficult time buying their ticket to the finals as they were in a tough battle versus a hard working Watchmen team. In seven games, the Oslo Storm advanced to the Finals as they were given all they could handle.

The Founder’s Cup was going to be a battle between two of the top teams in the entire league this season. The Wild came out of the gate with a bang taking game one 4-2 and game two 4-0 respectably.  Game three the Wild faced some adversity being outshot 25-7 and losing 2-1. Game four would be likely the biggest game of the Wild’s season. They could either crumble under the pressure or rise up and bounce back. In game four, the Wild won 3-2 in overtime from a Max Molholt winner. Then game five which was do or die for the Oslo Storm was a tough one for the Storm. They out shot the Wild 14-1, but were down 1-0 in the first. Then early in the second they went down 2-0 but got one back later in the period to be down 2-1. Mid-way through the third the Wild began to take over as they scored two quick goals around the 10 minute mark to go up 4-1. The Storm eventually got a goal back late in the game but it was not enough. The Wild won the Founder’s Cup!

The celebration ensues in the rink as Saskatoon wins the Founder's Cup!!!

The Saskatoon Wild completed an amazing season bringing home the Founder’s Cup! The Saskatoon play-off MVP in the fans eyes was goaltender Ariel Weinstein. Ariel put together a fantastic play-off run with a sparking 8-1 record with a .923 save percentage and a 1.49 goals against average. Weinstein kept the Wild in many close games and especially in the finals when they were being out shot by the Storm. A close second for MVP would be Max Molholt who put together a string of clutch performances in overtime and at the end of games. Molholt was the spark plug offensively for the Wild as Marcel Faux was rather mediocre in the play-offs but still put up points. The Wild will head back to Saskatoon to begin their Founder’s Cup parade!

Content 3/3 - Couldn't be happier for you and the Wild! You guys have worked hard all season to have a successful run and it's nice to see everything play out the way you wanted them to even if you thought that everything was going to go wrong lol. Probably the best season I have seen from a GM in their first season.

Grammar 2/2 - Seemed pretty solid minus some comma things, but yolo.

Founders Cup -> Founder's Cup

Appearance 1/1 - Simple minds like pictures.
