VHL Magazine Power Poll - Off-season

The VHL season is right around the corner with the pre-season set to start around Tuesday. GMs have pretty much locked in their rosters and are preparing lines for the upcoming marathon of games. Some GMs are planning moves at the trade deadline already. All of this just reminds us pretty much of the odd-season that just passed. This also brings us to this week's Power Poll:

 

Which VHL team do you believe had the best off-season?

 

The off-season is always gold if you're hoping to see GMs make many moves to improve or rebuild for the future, which we saw a bit of from multiple teams. For example, Cologne started to re-tool and acquire picks. Toronto looks to be all in for the next Entry Draft. Riga acquired a lot of star power for not much of a cost and the other teams are just still ready to compete with the roster that they have.

 

While making deals is exciting for most to watch, that doesn't mean that they're just helping the team improve. It's possible that the moves also hinder the team and set them back a couple of steps.

^{Helsinki not only had a killer draft. picking the likes of Clegane and Hamilton, but they made huge moves to pick up the league's MVP O'Malley and perennial Boulet contender Klose, as well as bringing his own player, Koponen into the fray. Helsinki have gone from worst in the league to contender for the Fong Trophy in just an off-season. Incredible.}
