While Bern has been keeping pace in the European Conference to date, Blacker knows he must step up his game if the Royals intend on making it to their conference championship. ”I know it’s not enough, my game has to improve. The face-offs, the hitting, the puck handling; that’s what wins games. I’m committed to making sure that this season doesn’t go for nothing,” Sean explained to the media after last night’s win against Bratislava. Although Blacker is still in the top 10 in scoring in the VHLM, his recent fall has critics wondering if another year of seasoning in the minor leagues would benefit both him and the VHL teams interested in drafting him. Said one general manager, ”I love his locker room presence. He has the intangibles, all of the ‘in-between’ stuff we like to see… I’m just not sure if he’s talented enough to keep up with the big boys up here in the VHL.
